car's back from bodyshop

Car looks good again! Looks like they did a pretty good job repairing the irregular dent i had on my right passenger side door. They repainted the entire door as well, and also painted my side markers for free while they were at it.

From the looks of it, i need new tires BADLY, so I'm gettin a set tomorrow for a reasonable price. Not lookin for the best stuff out there, since it's a bit too expensive for my budget but I ended up gettin some Toyo Proxies.. Are they alright?

Also, I want to put my stock stereo system back in(head unit), because I no longer like my dvd pop up screen adn all that, and i just want the clean, oem look again. However, when i initially installed it some 5 years ago, they may, or may not have just cut the fiber optic lines.. If they did, does anyone know how much it would be to replace the fiber optic lines??

Thanks guys

Proxies aren't bad. I don't know what your budget is but if you can afford them the goodyear eagle F1's are just phenomenal.

I checked Tirerack for F1's. There are like 10 different types of F1 tires. What ones are most commonly used?

Haven't seen you post in a while..how are you?

C32UL8R I hope he didn't cut the fiber connectors can imagine it won't be cheap. If so just buy a double din Nav unit there are so many nice ones out there.

"Proxes" isn't enough info... they're ALL called "Proxes" e.g. Proxes 4, Proxes T1R, Proxes R1R, Proxes R888, etc. But from his comment, I'd assume the 4's or the T1R's...

i did this like, 5 years ago, when i was young & dumb.. so regret it now.. i assume they did a hack job on it.. i was originally referred to there by a friend that got his car audio done. i trusted him, and gave them the benefit of the doubt, and i remember not being there to watch them do it, because i had to handle some other things. Man, do i regret it lol.. Turned out a year or two later, my car died couiple times, and ultimately foudn out that it was my car battery that died.. The people at the audio shop connected it all to the battery, so it's constantly sucking a lil juice all the time..

This is another huge reason why i just wanna put it back to stock.. causing way too much headaches for me.. Anyone in Toronto know a good audio shop?

ANd yes, i was very stupid to let that happen, i am fully aware ahaha..

Today, i got the tires on, and ended up gettin them cheaper than what i thought. Ride isn't bad on these, decently smooth and handles alright, altho i'm sure the F1's would be great, but they quoted me a price that was almost ridiculous to pay for. I am pretty sure they have a direct deal with Toyo, that's why they can give me a better deal on them, instead of any other car company.

i was just researching tires. cheapest toyo t1r's i could find were from edgeracing.com. $163 for the rears (255/35/18) and $145 for the fronts (235/40/18). total for all four corners was $683.90 (including shipping to CA). much cheaper than what the local toyo dealers and america's tires would quote me, even with the added shipping cost!
