Why bother with the V-8, when you can buy the IS300 now and put a tubocharger kit on it and produce 300-700hp. The six is lighter too.

C32 AMG
It is still slower than C32. They should of resurected old Supra Turbo engine. It would of made IS a lot more tuneable and a lot faster.

New AUDI S4 and now Lexus IS430, this people is six year behind ///AMG, those cars have been painted in the imagine of my old cool and divine C43.

The 2JZ-GE motor in the IS300 is the same basic motor as the Supra only a higher compression ratio. Turbo kits are available with 330rwhp at 6psi for less than $4500. Then again I have been down this road of highly modifiying cars in California and it sucks(smog laws). That's why I bought a C32.

Zepplin, so basically in california the "street legal" cars can't have any mods on it? (I have never driven a car in Cali, so I'm clueless.) All the top line mod-ed cars I saw on mag from cali are for show only? Say, what happens when folks import a GT-R and stuff?

On the IS300 issue, I downloaded a video of some dude in his tunned IS300 beating supras and 911 turbos. But then, the car is so "cheap" looking; no matter how much HP it gets, it'll never be my car of choice. They were the ones that came up w/ the worst idea - the clear rear tail lamp, which amazingly brainwashed so many idoits.

although it gets the V8 in the IS. It still don't look like it's worth the money. Toyota needs to learn from Nissan and Honda to make cars like the G35/Skyline, and the NSX. At least they looks like a million buck.

Audi went with the V8 in its NEW S4 because they found that the 4.2 V8 weights about the same as the Bi-turbo V6. There is nothing wrong with putting V8 into a compact sport sedan, but i still like the Bi-turbo V6 in the S4. It just suits the car better IMO.

This may be off topic, but I figured you experts may help me clarify... Few years back, a friend in HK bought a CLK55. It was a manual. To my understanding, MB has no stick (at least in US) for CLK55. When I asked about this, he said that MB can custom fit manual tranny onto their line of cars. All are done in house, w/ MB parts. Now, the dealers here in US, at least in where I live, have no idea about such thing. Do you guys have any insights? Say, who makes MB's manual tranny? For those of you driven in a high torque MB such as CLK55, hows the performance comparatively?

I guess in Germany you can get anything.
