What's the warranty on our SC?

Guy at the dealership told me 7 years, 100,000 miles? Sound right or is it a case of another fellow whom to believe only when his lips aren't moving?

That doesn't sound right to me but it sure would be a pleasant surprise.

I'm at 66,000 on mine and have issues with the S/C clutch. I've been avoiding the dealer because I'm afraid to hear what they would say it costs.

Ask RBrenton on the forums. He can get you the best price on OEM parts for our cars. I can vouch for him since I wanted to get an OEM bumper for my car new from the dealer and they were charging me $1,200 for just the front bumper........

Actually... I did not mention that I just picked up a re-manufactured S/C for a song. I got the whole thing for less than the labor to re-surface the clutch. Details to follow.

7 years 100K is wrong. It's 50k pretty much like everything else. I had mine replaced at 55K and it cost me $2700 just for the remanufactured SC and that's with giving them the core. If you don't give them the core it'll cost you around $4500. They were very picky with the core. They took the SC out and said if there is any reason they believe that it was altered, abused or anything else where I might of caused the issue they would void it and I would have to pay the full price ($4500) Also you'll need a new belt and the SC pulley. The labor was not too bad if I recall correctly. I had it done by a independent shop, they installed it in less then 2hrs. I droped off the car in the morning, they took the SC out and took it to the dealer. They picked up the remaf. SC and installed and it was all done the same day. If you have a plaque on your old one make sure to take it off because the remaf. SC does not come with one, just that ugly space for it. The dealer will give you 1 year, 12K warrany (only) on the ref. SC. If you do a seach you should find one of my original threads on this topic at the time when I had mine replaced.

I know that both splinter and myself have a similar problem with the clutch. Mine is described here:

Oh man, did you see mine? I was going to unveil it after I had received it (Monday or so).

I think one of yours is the one you out-bid me on. I have held a grudge for that.
