installed bi-xenons finally!

Hello all, just thought i would mention that i finally got some bi-xenons installed on my car from Steve. This was my first time meeting him and having something done on the car. Such a great experience, everything works as expected, and i had no idea what a difference it makes in appearance. Both for me using them, and people looking at the car. Also, while there, he was able to turn on (whatever setting it is) to make my arming and disarming of the car, chirp. This was something that the dealership said couldn't be done. Thanks Steve, hope to add something in the future, via you... I will post pics soon, and maybe audio of the alarm. On a side note, i will also post pics of my new kenwood in dash navigation system.

Concur.....I think you were pulling up as I was leaving. Did the same as my ballast or CU for on my driver side was on the fritz. I went from xenon to the bi-xenons and think they look killer compared to the frosties (I looked in the garage 5 times after bringing her home just admiring how nice they looked ). Anyone contemplating doing this upgrade should jump on it as its well worth it. I was expecting the low beams to be about the same as what I had but the bi-xenon headlights throw much more light out than what I had and when you turn the high beams on it's like a flood light from a cop chopper shinning down.....

Excellent modification, hkycoldrct.

They’re far more rewarding than those stinkin’ badges you’ve been contemplating, don’t you think?

Splint, the badges aren't for my car. I was going to sneak up to your place one night and take of the V6 Kompressor badges and put on the '3.2 AMG's'! One of the first things I did when I brought my ride home was get rid of the 'Kompressor' badges! MB might as well have put 'Ingersol Rand' on the side of the car,

Yes, the Bi-xenons make more of a difference than I ever thought they would going from xenon to bi-xenon.

Whoa, John. The car is looking gooooood! You must have spent the day detailing (just like Meguiar's taught you, right?).

I agree with you on the BiX upgrade. When I saw our cars sitting side-by-side, your headlights made a huge difference in the overall appearance.

Now if I could just get away with spending that much on my car right now......

Lookin' sharp.

hkycoldrct- haha! Mine were promptly pulled off so that it could masquerade as a ~180 horsepower C. Subtleness and subterfuge is an admirable trait with regard to badges, imho. Unfortunately, they left behind a nasty ghost image of where they’d been. Had to reinstall new hardware to conceal the ill-fated 'mod.'

ScottW911- Thanks. When we first caught up at VRP, I was in awe of your car’s pristine condition. You’re correct though, a little Meguiar’s TLC was all it needed. If only the Mrs. could refrain from bouncing off curbs and spilling her latte, it’ll be all set for our next GTG.

Great pics - very nice, congrats!

Also, IMHO, $1,250 is VERY reasonable for bi-x's w/ installation. My C32 had them stock, but I contemplated getting them for the C230 Coupe - it was extremely expensive ($2,500+ for just the parts, IIRC) so I passed.

Now you just need a different city light wedge bulb; ditch the yellowish-orange factory ones and get a bluish-white bulb to match your bi-x's... they're cheap and it'll really finish off the new look; PIAA makes a good one, similar to their Xtreme White Plus line.

yeah it was my first benz and amg, i was trying to stay in a budget, didn't know what i was missing out on. I was just glad that i could do it after the fact, for half what the dealer would charge.

Funny part about the dealer not being able to figure it out is that it took Steve all of about 5 minutes from booting up the old laptop, plug everything in and do the code. I had the same thing done!

Now I know when the car is locked for sure! I used to hate having to listen for the 'clunk' on the door locks to know the doors were locked!

Gotta switch to Netherlands mode. I remember back in the c32life forum days that this was discovered. Just do a search somewhere, there should be a thread.

yeah it's really nice knowing that my car is armed, and not having to look to see the lights flash (really hard in the day) Yeah it took him no time to code that part, im very happy with it. As for the dealership i mentioned netherland setting (laguna niguel dealership) and they just looked at me funny. haha, thanks Steve for proving them wrong.

I'm 99% sure you'd need W5W bulbs - like this:

http://www.eautoworks.com/product-PIAA-3752.htm

Can someone w/ a C55 confirm? FYI, it's also in your owner's manual
