2002 C32 AMG, 1998 NSX-T
First post as an owner!
Hey gang,
Just wanted to post a quick note, that I just picked up a 2002 C32 AMG w/ 49K miles. Pretty much bone stock, but I'm sure with your encouragement that will change soon =) It comes with the emblem, but I want to get a flat badge. Anybody know when I can get a nice one? Will be driving it back to the bay area, so will be treating the car to a nice interior/exterior detail before anything else (the previous owner had a 10-month child, so there are some milk stains...nice). anyways, just wanted to say hello, and looking forward to interacting w/ owners.
thanks.

Congrats on the new purchase. You're going to enjoy it. I've only had mine a few weeks and am loving every minute of it. My only complaint is that my wife never wants us to take my car now because she's afraid someone will ding it if we park anywhere other than our garage.

One thing I was a little weary of when I picked up the car was the rate of depreciation of these automobiles. Either I got a good deal, or the price of these things just continue to slide even through its twilight years.
Anyways, that aside, I bought the car as a gift for my wife who is graduating w/ a PhD in two months. But she insists I bought the car for myself...=) Like homer buying Marge a bowling ball w/ his own name on it, haha.
My next upgrade i think will be a bluetooth upgrade. The car itself comes with NAV and supposedly a phone module? dunno. From my cursory search, i think the ARGO module is the best way to go without having to drop a few grand. Anybody else gone down this route?
thanks.

Welcome to another Bay Area owner! ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Yeah, the depreciation on these things are crazy. I think partially due to the high maintenance costs and much lower demand than say the M3.
But I think it's worth it. It's the total sleeper car. Looks like any other C230 out there that all the Grandma's drive.![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
But to be honest, if the car weren't so much fun, I'd be disappointed in it's reliability.
P.S. Depending on where you are, I can highly recommend a mechanic that is super honest and reasonable although not an AMG specialist or tuner.

Here are some rough pics from my camera phone. Nothing spectacular, pretty much stock. For my first mod, if I can get my hands on a nice Affalterbach flat badge...
Also someone asked for a picture of the NSX, I am including one.

Mike, thanks for all your help with understanding more about the C32. Although it wasn't meant to be between us (um, not in that way), you've been of tremendous help, and is as much an outstanding C32 owner as you are an NSX owner! =)

Nothing major:
Wings West front lip
Marga Hills replica side skirt
Sparco TorinoII's seats
Powdercoated 02+ wheels
Type-R chassis and sway bars
Type-R front/rear badge.
Hand-made aluminum type-R hood made from OEM hood
I plan to keep it NA.
