MB recommends ONLY Mobil 1, 0-40W. This is the only oil that meets the 229.5 specs for AMG engines. Anything else is just taking chances. You will need 8 quarts. I had a spare on hand to top off if I came up short at all.

As far as changing the oil, it is a really easy (even for a non-tech type person like me). I purchased an oil extractor on Amazon.com. I also used an OEM fleece filter. You can do an entire oil change with these products within 30 minutes, without getting any oil on your hands.

Truly easy.

2002 C32 AMG
1 U.S. Quart is equal to .946 Litres. Very close. Mobil 1 0-40 is excellent.

Do it! Do it now! Before the engine blows......

Seriously, it is strange that a dealer would use something other than what the factory recommends. I'm sure you are good.

If you look at the back of any of the other viscocities of Mobile 1, none carries the 229.5 certification for MB's. I am just playing it safe by using the 0-40w.

Some local AMG owners are using motul 15W-50.... I wonder why my dealers used 10w-30 when MB recommends 0-40
YOu are using stock filters rite?
