SL55 full intake + C3P intake

Hi.
I'm thinking of adding the C3P to my current setup, I have two questions:
-Will it fit on the SL55 splitter?
-Will it be over kill? Or maybe some more power?

I love that whine and while the 20% off deal is still going on it's only 120. Anyway chime in guys, I think I'm going to go for the buy anyway and see which intake gives better times. 1/4 strip 3 runs with full SL55 3 with C3P.

Oh, speaking of intake, would I get any performance gains if I put K&N's instead of OEM SL55 filters?

Can't speak to your other questions but I know there was a thread some time ago with dyno numbers and strip times someone had run with stock filters vs. K&N vs green filters. Both K&N and Green filters showed some hp gains but not much, as would be expected. Off the top of my head I think it was ~6-8hp gain peak with the green filters being on top slightly. The main reason I remember that thread is because that is what convinced me to go with the green filters over K&N.
On a side now however, the E55 guys were having problems with the green filters being sucked in somewhat and had other fitting issues. I haven't had a problem with mine in over a years worth of use however.

i think its worth a shot if its only around $90. I think you'll probably gain some more top end and lost a little bit of low end torque, given a probability of a slower intake velocity from the higher volume air filters and the extra intake from the code3.

but definately worth a shot. Then again if you don't have to worry about smog, you might be better off selling the sl55 splitter and just get the LET duel Intake.

full 55k intake doesn't need the C3P intake mod. In another words since the 55k intake splitter is a y-splitter instead of a T-splitter there's nothing to remove to put the C3P on.

I have the full 55 intake with BMC filters btw. no front cover tho.

Hate to break the news to you, but you CAN'T use the 55 spliter with Code 3's. Different diameters on the piping. Check out LET's new intake and you will see this question/answer This has already been asked before.

See yeah

code 3 intake mounts to the stock 32 T-splitter which you can unscrew the top and add the code3 mod. It has nothing to do with diameter. The y-splitter has nothing to unscrew in the middle.

So I guess when Jerry posted this it was wrong Frank you do know that the question was for the 55 spliter, right?

Yes, I can make one for you. The pipes will need to be 2.5" vs. 3" to fit in the stock splitter.

The cost will be the same. I actually have 1 set of 2.5" piping at the shop....enough for one kit. If you want it, give me a call.

See yeah

what Jerry posted is correct for their setup. They used the 55 y-splitter which has bigger diameter than the T-splitter connected to tubings with filters on the end of the tube, so if someone wants to use the T-splitter which is smaller they have to use a smaller tube.

the question of this thread is "will the C3P intake mod fit on the 55 y-splitter?" which like I already explained. NO. There's nothing you can add or take off from the y-splitter. There is a cover you can take off from the T-splitter for the C3P intake mod.

I don't know if I can be anymore clear on this as I already did.

kindafast - you are bit a confused here. As Frank explained, the 32 splitter is T shaped with a plate in the back. That plate is removable by a few screws and it's where the C3P intake screws on. The 55 splitter is Y shaped and doesn't not have the back plate.

Now, if you want to try both, you can always use the 55 boxes, customize a couple of rubber couplings and fit them to the 32 T shaped splitter w/ C3P intake.

Your setup will look something like this:

55 snorkels - 55 boxes w/ K&Ns or Greens - custom fittings - 32 T shaped splitter w/ C3P intake

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, Once I get my C3P intake I'm going to put it on the oem C32 intake and take my car to the dragstrip to see the difference between the two setups. I'm thinking of doing a series of 3-5 runs for each depending on how pact the place is or when i arrive there.
