C32 AMG, C55 AMG (W203) 2001 - 2007

Question Need help!

I dont want to buy a new key for my ex-wifes' C230K key. I have 2 additional black keys for my C32 so I was wondering if I can open black housing of my additional black key and gut it out a put in her keys guts???

Please Help!

Vic it should be able to get done if it looks like the alarm remotes (Clifford) open it and the circuit board should be able to come out
Unless the board is attached to the plastic exterior of the remote.

Never tell them you lost it. You mis placed it and will continue to look. Or if all else fails blame them

All kidding aside I called my dealer and he said not. he was not sure why but he knows others have tried to do it and no luck. But then again that is a stealer.

Unfortunately that was the case with mine...(old style 02 key) I thought I would just switch out the electronics with a new "face"

The darn thing is like molded around the components and when I pryed it open stuff just broke

There goes that idea lol! I was lucky in getting a new key from the dealer after they scured up in doing an oil change for me and days after that the car was leaking oil due to them not replacing the crush washer of the drain plug. I ended up having to do it myself so the service writer felt that he owed me something for the f!!k up.
