My intercooler core has become a passive coolant injector.

If you have a functional replacement, or know of one that’s available, kindly PM/email details or simply reply in this thread.

TIA

Yup. According to C3P, it’s not yet available. Meanwhile, I’m SOL.

I'm in the same boat. Except mine has been leaking since last year. I did a chemical radiator flush, and it helped keep it from leaking for a couple of months, but it continued. I'll be still waiting for my wallet to get fatter and for the C3P unit to be released. The only problem I can think of happening with this continuous leak, is that there will be further clogging up and restricting the air flow, but I can't see this causing engine damage. I imagine if a chunk of this coolant crap broke off and entered into the combustion chamber, it would just burn up. How ever my biggest concern is that it might start pissing and cause a misfire.

Have you called C3P? I know they havn't announced its release on the forums. But you should try talking to Brandon and see if he can make a copy of the prototype for you.

Good luck!

Good idea, he might have a couple prototypes laying around. Ummm, mine was stolen Brandon, so I'm going to need one too.

As long as you're not pissing too much coolant in there, it should just vaporize away. For now, you not only have a poor man's water injection, but you also have an oil flushing system to clean out all of that Mobil 1 that gets blown into the intake.

I bought the stuff from AutoZone/WalMart. There are 2 cleaners involved. Drained and flushed the cooling system with distilled water. One of the cleaners was a 3 hour cleaning, filled with distilled and cleaner ( hours can be achieved over several days). Flushed again with distilled water, and filled again, add part 2, coolant flush chemical. (15 min ) turned on heater to flush heater core too, drain and flushed several times more with distilled water. Topped off with RedLine Water Wetter and Distilled. I went through about 12 Gal of distilled water at .75 per gal. $3-$6 for the chemical cleaners, and $8 for the Water Wetter. I chose not to use antifreeze for AZ, since it's not cold enough and the Water Wetter has anti-corrosive properties in it.

How does flushing a cooling system prevent it from leaking? If anything you would think it would leak more after the cleaning?

We're looking to release it in the next couple weeks, we're sorry for the delay. We want to ensure we fully test the unit on our car before final release.

On a side note, shoot me an email and I'll see if we can help in some way. Wink wink.

Sincerely,

Aaron

wow, I feel sorry for the poor sucker who takes that! spend $65 and all that work (if DIY) just to be in the same place? unless it can some how be fixed, but then wouldn't you just fix the old one?

That's a good reason to delay. Expensive parts shouldn't just be crapped out overnight; extensive testing is the way to go! Just throw us some updates when you can.

Also, we know you may or may not hit your target price, but what are you shooting for right now? A general range would suffice.

Well a new one costs $1500
And I'm not saying its not leaking so I don't see how they are suckers.
If there is a way to fix it, $65 is a steal

I can see how buying yours can help keep out any down time by repairing your intercooler and not having the car all torn apart. I think it would be a good idea to buy yours, find a supplier of the Laminova, or Spearco core and cut and weld it the new one in. would be kind of time consuming too though.
