How many of you used drag radials to break into 12's
However, i was kinda disappointed with my time of 13.45 s @ 109 mph, i got slower time than my stock time of 13.43 s @ 105 mph.
I suspected traction was the problem, with my stock car, the car just grips and launched. With the code3, i was getting wheel spin all the way until 2nd gear.
how many of you guys have boost mods but use street tires to achieve 12s? or do you always use drag radials to break 12s?
something
. Again, this is on G-tech/street.
However, I will say that loungn14's ET of 12.4x on street tires is borderline crazy for a C32 (in a good way)... AFAIK, there is only one other C32 that has achieved that level of success on street tires, all motor (fongflex's car IIRC). For example (from what I gather from MBW info) Jerry is an EXCELLENT driver, and I believe his heavily modded C32 achieved 12.4x WITH nitrous AND drag radials.
i did the usual powerbrake and 1500 rpm, if i stomp on it it will just spin wildly, so i tried to feather the throttle lightly but still no improvement (still spins)
i just checked my tires, they were about 50% left could this be the problem?
1.9x on 245/35-18 (Pirelli P-Zero Rosso w/ 23 psi at about 50*F)
1.8x on 245/40-17 (Firestone Fusion w/ 21 psi at about 55*F)
This was last year, so exact temps and tire pressures may be a little off. I was able to run 12.8 at 108 on both wheel / tire combos incidentally. I have several more mods now, so we'll see if I'm still able to launch this well when I go back; hopefully very soon.

Even with DRs I couldn't best the times done on street tires! There was a noticable traction gains with the DRs but I always ended up lower times then street tires.......
