New C32 owner here!

Hello. Been a long time forum lurker/poster in the C230 Coupe forums. Also was a big part of Csportcoupe.com back in the day, may it rest in peace. But as times change, so do cars. I now picked up a beautiful 2003 C32 AMG sedan, black/black.

So now it's time for me to mod...of course.

Looking through the threads, I didn't see much on Powerchip info. I e-mailed them a few days ago w/no response. I noticed on their website, they have a tuning package for the C32 marked (Software suits pulley). Anyone know what they're referring to? 418 hp with a chip tune is a *lot* of power. Is this BS or is this an actual possibility when tied to a different boost pulley, like a Kleemann or something?

Any info would be great. Thanks.

check out www.code3performance.com. They currently have several mods, such as a HeatExchanger, Supercharger Cluth Pulley, and Intake right now for great prices. www.LETmotorsports.com has great products as well such as larger crank pulleys, intake, plugs, wires, IC pump, HeatExchanger, and an ECU tune. Unfortunately, due to the hurricane, LET is limited to only ECU tunes right now, but I have only heard great things about them. I would trust LET to do my ECU before i go with powerchip. Besides, you can get a semi-custom tune if you tell them your setup (i think).

and 418 CRANK hp is definitely possible, though not without a chip and a pulley (at least). maybe headers as well. i think that the renntech stage II kit and one of the evosport kits promised somewhere in that range with chip, pulley, headers, and intake (for evosport). IMHO, go with LET and Code3. Great products at great prices!

LET C32 2002
Welcome

LET and C3P are to many...the premier way to go...prior to making any orders with either check that they have it in stock then decide...chances are you may be able to pickup a 181/185mm Pulley Setup thru LET as well as the incredible Custom Tune...maybe Headers....if not VRP has Headers for the C32 for about $1200. C3P is the place to get the SC Pulley, Intake, Heat Exchanger, Pheumonic Spacers...if you a search you can find info on all products I mentioned as well as C3P/LET/VRP phone numbers and websites.
As for power you definitely need Pulley(181/185 crank or SC) and Tune to bring crank HP to around 400+...another choice for the C32 is a 178mm ASP pulley with Tune...but I had around 380 crank hp 397 crank torque then on 325 wheel hp and around 340 wheel torque(based on a 17% drivetrain loss). Please keep in mind the C32 modded is alot harder to launch at the track...a Quaife LSD can help but at the cost not worth the extra few .10 tenth I read about. There are heavily modded C32 and C55s also they seem to be NOS friendly quite a few guys have installed them such as AMG Jerry and loungn14...check the Newbie thread in my sig to read on many different topics for C32/55...GL

P.S. the C3P SC pulley and intake as well as LET Custom Tune combined may not bring crank HP to 400 either...best is to Dyno before and after mods to see the gains.

Which would you say is better? C3P or LET? Better yet, what sounds more civilized? Owning a C230, I know that a boost pulley makes the car scream. From the group's experience, which is the better one overall?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase!~

Regarding our products and LET's, both are excellent. I'll let other members chime in on this topic.

Enjoy your stay and feel free to post questions on the board if you have any -- we're all here to help.

Sincerely,

Aaron

Well Honestly I think if its Ultimate power you seek then LET 185mm pulley set. Eveyone else have similarities with the edge going to 181mm but 178 and SC pulley are very close. VRP has Headers on sale for $899 you better jump on it! C230 is cool but not a C32 by any means.

Hmmm...well, I guess I have some research to do. I've always been more of a suttle tuner. 400 hp and/or 12-second time slip is more than enough for me. I'm hoping with an intake mod, spacer kit, pulley/ECU, and a resonator delete will get me there. So we'll see. Thanks for the info, though. I appreciate it.

Welcome aboard!

You shouldn't have any problems reaching 400 crank HP and a high 12s slip with those mods.

Just to make sure...

You can't use the SL 55 intake in conjunction with the Code 3 intake, right? I haven't seen any definite confirmation on it on the forums.
