is this the correct transmission dipstick?
i'm probably going to do a complete maintence overhaul on my car. Heat exchanger, johnson pump, behr radiator and transmission fluid change.
I just wanted to see if this is the correct dipstick for the c32. The link just say mercedes transmission from 99-04.

German engineering... yeah, nice

Oh, one more thing: don't make the same mistake I did when I first got the car. The tube down behind the engine is for the tranny. The tube coming up next to the supercharger is for the engine oil.

Radiator DIY for when you're ready.
I have the johnson pump, new behr radiator, and a code3 heat exchanger on the way. Hopefully aaron can ship it out to me by monday. I was thinking i might as well do the whole thing at once..maybe do a transmission change while i'm at it. Basically do a complete maintence overhaul.
Right now i have a lot of free time since i'm waiting on my job title to transfer to the other company.
John, let me know if you can still help on the installs. I'd rather have a pro help me then me trying to stumble through it.

So, the tranny tube is the one with the plastic cap that says something like "Mercedes Shop Only" or the sort.
I still can't find the ******* oil drain plug on the underside of the car. Am I blind or what????
Also, TemjinX2, you obviously have already been through this. . . Has anyone developed a full-time tranny and oil dipstick (actual functional, trustworthy measuring tools which are installed full-time?) I would really love to have a couple of real dipsticks on the car!!!
Is the dealer the only option for the tranny fluid?
Thanks again.
i dont know where the oil drain plug is, you might want to PM splinter, he's more knowledgable.
As for the full time dipsticks, i have no clue..lol. I used the electronic for the oil and the ebay dip stick for the tranny.
oil drain is on the bottom of the tranny pan. if you break the output hose loose then you can drain the oil from the pan and torque converter. all told approx. 7.5 qts. the way its done is crack the line insert in drain jug. fire car up run 15 secs shut off. should have approx 3 qts in jug. drop pan and replace filter and clean pan and add new gasket. dont forget the magnet in the pan. replace fluid and repeat going through all the gears. shut off. should have 4 qts in jug. replace line bring up to temp and check level. take care to torque tranny bolts from the middle out as the rubber gasket can cause you to overtighten at 1 end and cause leaks.
check old fluid for coolant as its a common issue with the m/b radiator.
if you are running a 722 tranny you can use sprinter / crossfire fluid for the tranny. cost is approx 4$ per qt cheapper than m/b

Not sure what a 722 tranny is. I have the stock 2002 C32 five-speed automatic. Is this the 722?
i'm probably gonna do another transmission fluid change with my next oil change, just try try to get some of that older transmission fluid out of the torque converter.
