"M" Transmission
Hi all,
wo has got the newest automatic transmission with the "M"-Option is his {W203.165}? Is it worth to upgrade the old one? I have a ´02 model so I only can drive "W" and "S".
The upgrade is about 1500¤.

Well, if you look at some display pics of the posted cars you will see a "M" instead of the "S" and "W". The "M"-option is installed in every 03 model. It is like porsches tiptronic. You need to change gears manualy like on other manual transmissions. The automatic transmission won´t even change gear if you use the kickdown.
On the AMG price list it´s about 1500¤ for the W203.165 models built till june 02 and all the other models it´s only 500¤.

2003 C32 AMG
Mt '03 does not have the "M" trans mode
Sure wish it did - the trans (along with the understeer) is the least satisfying part of the car. A real "M" mode would be wonderful. Maybe opportunity for aftermarket (EVOSport?) s/w???

please don´t tell me that the US 2003 W203.165 models don´t have a "M" mode?!
Every AMG delivired after july 2002 has the manual mode for the automatic transmission. It won´t change gear even if u use kick down.

If a trip to Affalterbach isn't too far for you, you can have the M-transmission refitted for C32 and SLK 32 models by AMG.
Unfortunately, it can't be installed anywhere else.
