well i went to the shop today and asked them about turbo charging the car and they seemed to be more worried about how we would get the computer tuned for turbos. I got the impression that renntech wouldn't want to map the ecu and if they did it would take alot on time and money... so that puts a hamper on that... STS did get back to me and said they are 100% sure they could do it but they were also worried about cracking the ecu and getting larger injectors.... so

Do not get a blower. Continue modding C55 NA or sell C55 and buy E55.
The best thing to do would be to keep modding your C55 and also find ways to reduce weight by a few hundred pounds, that would be the best option. just a thought

I spoke with ProDyno out here in AZ and they are very excited to do a twin turbo kit for my car. Now all i need is to scrape together the loot.

i know originally LET was just going to tune with the stock ecu. You should PM jerry and see if he can remote tune it, if you datalog the car with a wideband.

What about the 11-1 CR? Turbos with 6PSI boost will not get you close to 450rwhp.
Just spoke with Cory at Kleemann today. Eduardo (MBMexcio) is having his TT C55 project buttoned up and the bill is near $100K!!! Of course this includes a DTM wide-body but the CR had to be lowered significantly, not to mention forged internals, etc...
I asked him about doing a Brabus style 6.1 S conversion while still keeping the Twin-Screw but he said they are not set up for that.
He then suggested I wait for the completion of Edwardo's project which they plan on building a economic kit for if there is enough demand from C55 owners.
There is also the 6.1 displacement increase option similar to Brabus which can be coupled with a SC kit. This option may be easier for ECU tuning and yield equal or better power results.

I was thinking about the compression of the C55 being very high too. High Compression ratios and FI can be very bad. IDK what i'm gonna do. I want the car to be safe so thats the most important?Originally Posted by AMGSC

there's nothing wrong in turboing a high compression engine, its just more difficult because you can't use as much boost and you have to be very careful with the tune.
This is where the quality of the tuner comes in. People turbo s2000's all the time easily hitting 400whp-500whp. S2000 compression ratio is 11:1:0.
psi also has nothing to do with the amount of power you make. 6psi on a smaller turbo will yield different whp then 6psi on a larger turbo.
The difficult part will be the tuning and how much power can the stock block take before it needs to be upgraded. I said this in other threads about the c55. Its the block thats going to hold you back. I would build the block...just for piece of mind.

I was also mulling the idea of a single turbo. kinda like what STS had for LS1 and LS2 motors I think that would be enough to keep me happy for a while.Originally Posted by TemjinX2

actually you'll probably make more power with a larger single turbo then two smaller turbos. Just depending on what you want to do. Originally Posted by hooleyboy

The only real benefit to tt is that you can have a smaller turbo for the low revs fully spooned while the second turbo is spooning for the higher rev's. It was a common technique in the past to reduce turbo lag.
Turbo tech has advanced pretty far since those times with the newer ball bearing turbos.
Even on a 1.8L integra motor, a gt30 turbo was basically fully spooned by 2000rpm on a 8200rpm redline. Hence why hondas respond so well to turbos, lot of revs to stay in boost for a long time before shifting.
Given you have a 5.4L motor, even out of boost the car is going to have a decent amount of power off the line.
But if you thinking of lowering your compression by switching out the pistons, you might as well just built the whole block since the engine is out or try to source a used e55 block from a wreck or something.

I was thinking the last thing this car needs is more power down low. I got tons of power and torque so having some more power in the mids to upper rpm range would be nice. Getting the power when my wheels have already hooked up and i'm moving would be coolOriginally Posted by TemjinX2

Larger single turbo would best IMHO our cars don't need anymore out of the hole. Midrange and top end would be the ticket IE a single ball bearing hair dryer.

Twin turbo might be over kill for this car. The camaros that have an STS single turbo option gain about 100whp If I could get 70whp i would be very happy.Originally Posted by Mikegpr03

Wow, how often do you see a Kleeman Supercharger being sold at a discounted price??
Hooleyboy, if you are serious about keeping the C55 and making the "fastest" C55 on the planet, I'd go with the Kleeman Supercharger and headers. This will automatically put you in another league in terms of acceleration and straight line speed. A proven tuner with a long track record. They've been supercharging the M113 for a LONG time, so there should be no (or minimal) unpleasant growing pains or unexpected problems you would have with any new tuners trying new products.
Before I got my C55, I was seriously thinking about supercharging my previous C240 with Kleeman.

yeah that kleemann deal really thoughts a wrench in that mix. something to think about for sure. Question is does this deal include ecu tuning even if it doesnt its still a good deal. I could sell my Renntech airbox and Evosport headers and recoup $2000 Then what do i do with the stock cats? Deff got some things to think about.

I can't believe the deals that are out there at the moment! Hooleyboy if you decide to do this I'd be interested in those Evo headers...

Sometimes in this Mod game there are friendships built, My local tune shop, Dyno-Comp out here in Arizona, Have really been on board with the passion I have for my car, All the little secret tunes they built for me and countless free dyno runs and free race fuel. Its really become a place I can go to if I am board and just hang out. Dyno-Comp is a Renntech dealer, but by no means do they push renntech on me, and they are more than happy to install anyone else's products on my car. I guess I would just have a hard time telling my friends that I'm scrapping all the work we have done on my car for a whole new setup and a new shop. Dont get me wrong this is a smokin deal from Kleemann and really put a wrench in my plans, also for just under 10K Dyno- Comp will build me a custom APS twin turbo setup. or for well under 10K I can retro-fit an AMG SC. IF I ran into a problem on the dyno with my car and I had the Kleemann setup they could only tell me whats wrong with my car rather than fix it on the spot. Plus I got a few more NA mods to do first or at leased I want to do. Whatever road i choose its going to be a fun one.Originally Posted by Newzchspy
