Suggested purchase price for an SL 55 intake mod?
How much does the community think an SL 55 set up is worth to purchase? What's better overall, the full setup, or just the Y splitter?

full setup is better. you wont see much gains with just the y splitter. you need more air flow to see the maximum gains gained by adding the sl55 splitter. the airboxes are 25% larger than the stock c32 boxes and the larger hoses help suck in more air.

I will sell you my 55 intake setup for $200. 55 Boxes only with K&Ns and the snorkel tubes are already modified with the 32 openings for the perfect OEM fit. Includes shipping.

hey just wondering but will this set up fit a c240? and what else would be required to make this fit the car?

I believe you will gain more on top as to oppose to whole power band.

yes this is true. i was speaking to brandon a while back about this and he said that most of the SL55 power comes top end whereas the code3 is throughout the curve. having driven with both intakes, i can certainly tell the difference with both. i may try to use a hybrid for the track tomorrow to see how it works: SL55 hoses and boxes, and C32 splitter with Code3 intake.

Mechanically, the intakes from all the 55k engines should be the same correct? I think the only difference that the SL55 had from the E/CLS/S/CL was that it had different snorkels right?

Heh. I'll have to wait until a later time to pick up an intake. Christmas time is brutal on the wallet.

Everyone says to order from RBrenton who apparently has access to wholesale prices. With him, its well over $300.00 (not including shipping).
i just did this mod last month and searched all over the net for the best prices.

yeah...from parts.com, E55 amg intake, is cheaper than the SL55 intake.
the E55 intake comes out to be $262 without shipping, and shipping is $10-15.
