2006 C55- School Me

I’m currently looking into a 2006 C55 with 34xxx miles on it.

I’ve done quite a bit of searching and reading but what do you have to say about them? Anything I should look at or listen for when I take it for a test drive? Any particular issues: good or bad?

Also price wise, they are asking ~31000; that does seem high, or is it?

Thanks in advance!

If you get the option to take it for a ride (seems more people are buying on the net and don't get to drive the car) do a transmission reset before you drive the car, just search the forum on how to do it. its very easy. Other thank that C55's are rock solid.

You could get an E55 for just a bit more $

seat heaters will go bad, at least once. condensation in the mirror turn signal indicators. motor mounts may need to be replaced (transmission mounts too). All of this stuff is warranty though so you should be fine.

Money may be a shade high but depends on condition, market, and options.

I adore mine. Definitely the low profile rocket ship. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Go for it.......it seems like a good price, under what i paid for an 05'. All i can say is that if you test drive it...you will buy it. period.

Just to give you some more input that is about 7k more than I paid 2 months ago for an 05 with 49k. I have had zero major problems with my car so, so far so good.

I wish you the best of luck, but did you know there are PLENTY of 04 and 05 E55's and S600's for that price

It's a VERY sad market right now to try and sell a car, trust me I know.

Good luck

See yeah

PS: LOVE the sig/pic

Thanks to everyone who posted. I’m looking at the C55 for the pure fact that the C55, for one reason or another, is my favorite MB and I am (financially) able to afford one. Don't get me wrong that E55 is bad ***, but it’s a C for me =)

So it’s off to go take a look at it, I’m sure ill be back with some more questions!

Thanks again

i went to the dealership to get my seat heaters replaced and notified them of the condensation in the turn signal..they said it was normal and said the heat from the bulb should take care of it? sounds like bs but they didnt do anything about it. in the end i got an oil leak fixed (valve cover gasket replaced), transmission leak fixed (o-ring replaced), and my trunk spring replaced so i couldnt complain...

I am with you on that one. There is just something about the C55. C55's are rare. Its a nimble litte car with a bunch of power. I may get into other cars but i think the C55 will be with me for a while. It would be hard to part with.

Also My motor mounts craped out too. There is no felt in the windows and can cause etching in window tint.

I've got mine for sale with less mileage and with every single option you can get on it for the same price.

You should complain. They have replaced my driver's side twice now. Both times they spotted it and took care of it. I have a good dealer. Oh, and if the heat from the bulb is enough to take care of the condensation, you're using your blinkers a *lot*.

The C55 is a great car. I really love the why my car sounds drives and looks.
I think thats why I won't want to part it out. I'd rather take more of a hit and have someone enjoy this car the way its set up (wheels suspension looks ect)
But I really haft to be honest, I drove a few BMW's (M3's 5's & 6's) and I must say that BMW's are more for tech savy drivers 'ME'. Not as much hp as the 63's. I guess I have given Merc's a shot why not BMW Just my .2 cents. Given I am asking a bit on the high side but your really getting alot for the $.

BTW have you guys seen the navi on the new M3 And the new tranny
