This new motor I'm putting in will love it. Want to run low 11's high 10's at almost 130mph.

If my car were stck I know it would not have a chance even against a stck C32. That really would not be the case with either the old motor I had in or the bottom end I'm putting in now.

However I would still love to own a C32 and twin turbocharge it. Would be like owning a modded S4 TT V6 but only RWD.

Price! And the whole world had GSX's.

When I bought it in 98 this car happened to be sitting at a Mitsubishi used car lot and they were selling it for dirt cheap. It only had 34k when I bought it and was leased or traded in by a female I could'nt resist.

I DON'T COME HERE ANYMORE
I'm running the new Evo X at the track now-modded X vs my C55 (no mods)-I'd take the X all day up to 60mph roll.....track doesnt even compare (Evo X FTW)-the C55 des give you some decent merging powa and is def a better ride (coil overs all the way around on the X)-but being in the Evo community still.....I could intro you guys to a bunch of VIII and IX's that would eat these cars a live (and they are true DD for the owners)....but good kill none the less

is it true that one performance modification (ie: downpipe, intake) will nullify your warranty? i have heard this from several people but dont know if it is true...

I'm surprised this hasn't turned into a flame war. I know I've been biting my tongue. :P

The other thing is once I beat a car, I'm no longer interested in challenging it. So I've put away an Evo IX, so now I've got bigger fish to fry, irregardless of what the car can do. Most any car can be made to run 11s or 10s with enough work, that's besides the point. Problem is, I'll always be hard pressed to find a Ferrari or Porsche who'll take up a challenge. A Corvette will likely not be difficult to find to challenge, though.

Well what is there to flame?
Alot of us here are car enthusiasts and quite a # of us know how relatively cheap it is to mod an EVO compared to an MB.
Many of us know the potential of an EVO as wel and what it is capable or doing in a road race or autocrossl.

By the way ,you were racing a STOCK EVO vs your modded C32. So you beating it really does not surprise anyone.
I know my AMG will murder a stock or lightly modded EVO or Sub STi but that does not mean I have a lack of respect for them. They are great track cars as well.

When you get your C32 to run 11's please let us know and let us know the cash you spent.

It would cost you alot more $$ to have your C32 run 11's compared to making an EVO run 11's.

PS
Run into the right Corvette and you will sincerely get raped. Don't bite your tongue too hard ,you may end up eating it with your words.

Next time race a modded EVO before you just completely dismiss them.

...eh....idk about raped. i guess it depends which corvette we are talking about here. if we are talking about a C6 or C5/C6 Z06 i 100% agree. I think with just a tune/filters, the C32 will be a good race from a low roll. C5s can run mid 12s stock with tires and the top end on the C5 will certainly pull a C32 with just these mods, esp past 100. But from say 20-100-ish., should be relatively close IMO.

have to say, i am quite a fan of the STI. love the sound of the exhaust, especially with turboback and cams.

we all know its cheaper to mod japanese cars then european cars. My friends evo 9 mr basically got 30whp just from a ecu tune. I could've just spent $8k on my integra and had 500whp with a built block.

We all decided to drive the mb's either because of the styling, comfort or luxury on top of the power.

But if your a indivdual whose all about power then i agree a japanese car or a corvette would be a better choice.

Even if he was stock from the 75mph roll he still would've won. From a dig, probably would've been a different story.

Turk and Terminix,I'm with you guys !
Just that the poster seems to be overzealous about challenging other cars with out really knowing what they are capable of.

As far as the Corvette is concerned I should have clarified and said a newer C6 or 2k7 to 2k8 ZO6 but I did say the right Corvette.

A modded C32 is certainly a force to be reckoned with no doubt about it. I think it has the potential to be the fastest built AMG if it were twin turboed.

What it does S/C and modded is impressive in itself! Especially a SLK32

i see your point. Oh well..props on the talon... i was going to get a 2g gsx before the civic but i read too many stories about crankwalk and got scared away..lol.

Its too bad chrysler didn't decide to keep up the dsm relationship. I'm a huge fan of the vr4 and stealth. i'm still tempted to buy a vr4 now since there going for $5k.

That is the truth!

However,I'd like to see what a TT C32 might be capable of doing. I'd still be up for the challenge.
Yeah, add one of those to my list as well. I had a '96 TSi AWD. Built a 6 bolt 2.3L stroker w/ 1G head running (w/ 272 cams), a Team RIP trans w/ VR-4 First, 25% taller Fifth, double syncros, and 4 spider center diff. The stock trannies are made of glass, but the motor build was admittedly unnecessary since I was still running my tiny "Big T28" turbo. There was not nearly enough flow to feed that monster of an engine and I ended up selling the car before I paid my credit cards down enough to upgrade to a decent turbo; all that work and I ended up buying a C5 Z06 before I was even done with it.

My point exactly, which is why I'm preferably to european cars. Much less common to modify, and as such, in my opinion, deserves more respect.

Oh, just to make sure, 'from a dig' refers to off the line, right? :P

cool and that's true about the Eclipes.
