C32 AMG vs TrailBlazer SS (LS2)

Went out with some of my buddies tonight. I was the DD. My car was packed with 4 other guys adding an additional 800 or so pounds. It was definitely a tight squeeze into my little C.

On the way out, was making a right and say a Black TrailBlazer SS (LS2 motor). I turned and caught up. It had powdercoated black rims with tinted tails. Quite loud. Looked super clean and really nice. My buddies were all nagging at me to get him to do a run. So, I gave it a little gas and the TrailBlazer (TB) was down.

Two rolls were done. First roll I was in mid 2nd gear (probably 40-ish) and he was about a half car in front me and got a jump. I pulled back to even by about 90-100.

Second roll was more legit. I was at the top of second gear and we did a three honk. Went to about 110. It was neck and neck for a little bit, but then I pulled a car length by the time I shut it down.

Then the funny part:

I was wondering what the guy was thinking being that he just got beaten by the little 4 dr MB. My buddies all open the windows and the guy opens his. I roll up and he gives me the thumbs up, says my car sounds good and whatnot...jabber jabber jabber and says "your car is fast!" ....as I slowly pulled up a little past him (in my lane of course) he goes "HOLY ***** and you have 5 people in your car?!?!"

....not sure if that came out funny in text, but it was perhaps the funniest thing i have ever heard while racing or anything. Talked to the guy, he had a CAI and a resonator delete (sounded awesome). He was a chill guy. Told me he was running high 13s and trapping 101-ish.

I told him not to feel bad. It is a truck. A fast truck, but it just isn't an AMG (not to mention a car lol).

For those of you who arent familiar with motors, the LS2 motor in the SS TB is good for ~400 hp and ~400 tq (numbers are crank). same motor as the 6.0 GTO and 05-06 C6 Corvette.

.....oh and of course, the runs were done in Mexico.

Nice, those are fast trucks. My brother and neighbor both have them and we race all the time. I usually pull about 5-6 lengths once we hit 100.

Then again, I have never had a full house when running with them

Now just think what you would have done with the 185

Nicely done....

wow that is quite the LS family. My roomate has an LS1 and other is about to get an LS motor in his CTS-V shortly. They are great, strong motors! Quite bulletproof.

thanks! yah with the 185, would have been another story.

they are really nice trucks. at one point when i was constantly having issues with my car, i honestly thought about trading it in for one. i would definitely consider one. i dont think they are quicker than stock Lightnings or SRT-10s, are they?

lol....you would blow it away.....supercharged ones can trap between 114 and 120 depending on supporting mods, boost levels, and nitrous. I wouldn't expect to run into one of those 120 trappers though. they are rare.
