Could someone give me a drama update?

So I'm not really a huge poster here, but I like to read all of the useful info that gets posted, and I can't help but get a little interested in all the drama that goes on between people, e.g. JRCart vs blackbenzzz etc...

Herein lies my problem, I seem to have missed a lot of good drama, and am only now reading about the aftermath. Like what happened between JRCart and Andy/MHP that got them both banned? Does anyone have a link to the thread, or did the mods just delete it? Speaking of which, unless a post is obviously beyond the pale (e.g. racist), I think that mods shouldn't delete them. After all this is an internet messageboard, no one is forcing anyone to read the posts when people get all juvenile, and some people (like me) find them incredibly entertaining.

Also, what happened with XtinaNoel in the C63 forum that I just read someone talking about criminal charges being brought against him for like Terroristic Threats?

Speaking of criminal charges, I tried to find some info about the guy who was trying to sell fake wheels or something a while ago and actually took someones money, but I couldn't turn up much... the last thing I read was that he was actually going to trial. Anyone know more about that?

Maybe I'm way off here, and am in the vast minority, but this stuff has provided me with several hours of entertainment over the last few months, and I feel like I've missed a bunch of good episodes in the MBworld.org soap opera!

You'd have a lot more success posting this in the w211 forum, if you haven't already... as that's where all of the drama you're asking about has taken place

jangy, JRcart, and MHP haven’t been banned, just suspended.

Perhaps after their little vacation, they’ll return and be able to “play well with the others.”
Stole that line from when the Mrs. is doing her third graders’ report cards.

I do miss them and their witty banter, though.

I know some of the threads your talking about. After work its fun to read those posts. There was a war going on with MHP and some others thats for sure. People sometimes take exception. The people on the forum are here to post, read, debate and what not, so I dont blame them for doing what they did.

The deal with that MHP vs.... thread in a nut shell MHP got themselves into a pissing match with some members or the other way around and it just didn't end. I thought it was a fun pass time to read, I also think neither one should be on suspension, but thats just me. This is just what i heard so I dont know if its true at all but this is my take, The C63 comes out and bam! new tuner on the block saying they not only can do more than Kleemann, renntech or anyone esle for that matter and (CAUTION RUMOR AHEAD) now their tuner is nowhere to be found. MHP should pump their products. They should remember that some people will call them out on it though.

MHP was Talking about 128bit encryption and how no one can do it. The truth of the matter is Renntech knew about the new ecu coding 2 years before it even came out. Hartmut @ renntech must have his connections still. Im sure Kleemann knew about it too. If I'm correct BMW's have the same 128bit ECU coding type thing. IMO jerry from LET and Cory@kleemann take the best approach chiming in on technical post relating to their products and thats really it. All in all I like a good pissing match from time to time as long as its about cars.

What Splinter said - they are only suspended. And they will be suspended again...... and again ......... and again ....
So long as a forum has the type of ego that fuels these types of e-skirmishes, it'll never end. The moderators and administrators don't help the situation either (what with their ever-so-subtle allegiances to certain forum members).

Since it's on the tips of everyone's tongues (but not posted), I'll say it:
The 'Troubles' (as Irish natives like to allude to) appear to coincide with the emergence of the 6.2L AMG engine in MB AMG models that start with a 'C' or 'CLK' and that may or may not end in 'BS'. I have run a two-way ANOVA with Bonferroni's post-test to verify these finding (p < 0.0001). Please do not argue with these irrefutable data.

Put simply, Jrcart, MHP, and Jangy were suspended for conduct unbecoming of gentlemen. Call me aloof, but I think one should expect reasonable behavior from Mercedes Benz owners. Speaking of, I like to think of Jrcart, MHP, and Jangy, et al. in the same vein as the Terminator:
"....Can't be reasoned with....can't be bargained with....and absolutely will not stop, ever...."

While most of the e-bickering going on over there is funny and entertaining, many posts by the aforementioned are downright embarrassing.
Can one choose not to read them? - I would contend only sometimes. Many times, the grade A douchbaggery that occurs between these members crops up in threads that are of legitimate interest to many members.
Unfortunately, while initially humorous, these threads rife with e-drama proceed to the point that things get out of control (sometimes worse than racist remarks):

Infantile name-calling...
Family member insults...
Car insults...
Driving skill insults...
Intelligence level insults...
Net worth / worldly possession insults...
Threats to perform bodily harm...

Should these offenses be deemed serious? Perhaps, some of them.
Should these be deleted by the moderators? Some of them - YES. If for no other reason, those posts are a complete embarrassment to any MB owner who has the misfortune of stumbling across them.

In addition, you really have to have your ears to the ground in terms of reading the goings-on from other forums. Many e-rows originate in other forums and spill over here at MBWorld (or vice-versa).
It turns out that all four have legitimate reasons for feeling the way they do (however they don't have any reasons for engaging in douchebaggery). Many people assume an alter-ego when they use a keyboard. As posted by others, don't bother posting content that you wouldn't say directly to somebody's face.

With that in mind....
Let us analyze the primary participants in said e-altercations. Here are the participants and here are their harrowing stories:

MHP - 'Andy' - a new sponsor, appears to have a great product (i.e. ECU / TCU tuning), one of the 'new kids on the 6.2L Block' (excuse the pun), has the fastest C63 known. He comes from an 'American-muscle' background. The older guard are sceptical of tuning products due to the paucity of available data on said tunes. I see his issue as not having the gumption to stop arguing. He seems like a knowledgeable guy and has been described by W211 AMG owners as being a nice guy in real life.
[On a side-note, if Hooleyboy's rumor is true, then there's going to be trouble over in the W211 AMG forum!]

Jangy - The 'Jangster' - he's been around for a long time. He posts a lot - some useful information and some erroneous. Obviously, himself and Jrcart have a thing for each other. Like others, Jangy doesn't know when to stop arguing and unfortunately has found himself at the end of two racing challenges and reneged on them. I don't care what anyone thinks - Jangy has a great mouth of teeth. I wish mine were in such great condition (a youth spent playing rugby isn't good for the grille!).

Jrcart - 'Jim' - richer than me by approximately the market value of Microsoft, multiple car and motorcycle owner, recent MBWorld member, owner of the fastest CLK (on nitrous), trucking company owner, women (plural)-lover, racer, and betting man. The quintessential car enthusiast with two flaws - he has a temper like Mike Tyson, and doesn't like getting up early in the morning.

Blackbenzz - 'Ahmad' - true car enthusiast, long-time forum member, owner of the fastest non-nitrous CLK, GTG organizer, hurler of jabs and taunts with clinical precision, and master of passive aggressiveness. If I were to hazard a guess, I would say Blackbenzz is a scientist. - Extremely coy and cleverly evades reprimand by forum moderators.

Then you have the unsung heros / villains who act as the supporting cast for the above members. Again, powerful statistical analyses show that there is a positive correlation between peer support and owning a MB with a similar motor. Classic camaraderie.

If only this were the 70's, we could give them all 'ludes and the problem would be solved.

Hmmm - didn't catch those latest developments. I know the thread you're talking about; however, I stopped reading it early on (C63 forum threads have a nasty habit of degenerating).

Ultimately, not a damn thing was done - an absolute shame that appears to be out of the hands of the victims in question. Many forum members banded together to ID the guy. It would appear that 'The Law' didn't have enough evidence to pursue it further. To add insult to injury, the scammer (aka: vesicle of excrement) has gone back to his old ways (there are couple of Off Topic threads he started, and a suspect e-bay auction involving E63 wheels).

It's definitely entertaining; however, only to a finite point. W211 AMG forum 'decorum' (and others) has taken a definite down-turn lately. Perhaps I'm turning into an old fogey, but I'm finding there is a discernable fine line between entertainment and conduct unbecoming of this forum. Within reason, let's all have a laugh, call each other out, and have disagreements.

In the W203 AMG forum, we are rather fortunate to have members who treat each other with respect. That's not to say that we don't have issues here (and we do); however, conversations don't degenerate to the point that members are suspended or banned. I pay particular attention to the W211 AMG forum because I will eventually get one of these fine machines. As a result, I'm interested in the wealth of technical knowledge that exists there. Unfortunately, the situation over in the W211 AMG forum is a natural phenomenon when you have many members with conflicting goals, allegiances, and personalities.

[insert request for group hug here]

That said.....

Splinter - I'm sick and tired of your crap. I'm calling you out, man.
I challenge you to a drinking contest and I demand that you come to Atlanta for said drink-off this summer. You have several months to mod' your liver. Winner gets the splash-proof vomit bag.

That's a great little update, although slightly disappointing that the scammer kid didn't end up getting prosecuted.

You’re spot on, boohooramblers.
The decreased participation by the knowledgeable faithful is discouraging - but not altogether unexpected.

splinter - I'm sick and tired of your crap. I'm calling you out, man…
Woe to the member that engages a scientist or engineer in forum fisticuffs. Far be it from me...
I do, however, look forward to enjoying a refreshing beverage with you this summer. :-)
