C55 Dyno Questions
Next month im going to take the 55 to the dyno. I know about putting it in "Dyno Mode" but my question is what gear should i be in for the best results. From what i have read in other threads it looks between 3rd and 4th. Is one better than the other?
Anything else I should know; seeing as i have never even been to a dyno place

3rd gear. Dyno mode is a must on a C55 or the car will not work on a dyno due to traction control issues. Even with traction control off it wont work on a dyno if its not in dyno mode.
What mods do you have to your car? Based on my car on a dyno dynamics dyno stock I put down 291whp and 305wtq.

Stock 291,
ecu 309,
headers airbox, 333,
heavy wheels 315,
exhaust 336,
custom renntech ecu 348,
hiflow cats 354.8
I should note that i run my car on a mix or 91oct and 100oct so most dynos are done with 95oct. If I ran pure 100oct I would put down 360whp. Ive put down 389whp on a dyno jet not to long ago.
even with all these mods i can only muster up a 12.94 1/4 mile run due to this Arizona D/A. My corrected times are 12.5et. At the Mercedes track meet I was only able to pull a 13.1 or a 13.2 with blown out primary cats. I'm not a very good drag racer though.

You did an excellent job of documenting what each change netted! What are your trap speeds?
