Both of mine were broken out on a trip to Phoenix three weeks ago and the insurance company is replacing them along with the windshield, which has a 1 foot crack. I will ask the shop (its not the dealer) if they have an installation sheet, but it will be next week.

I have done this last week, it took me about 40mins to do both side, the hard part was getting the grill out intact without breaking the little plastic clips. The key is you have to loosen the main bolt that hold the plastic housing so you will have enough room to pivot the fog to get it out (of course this is after you unscrew the 4 screws that held the light).

I set up the time for replacement of the fog lamps and they do not have an installation sheet for this job. Hope it goes ok.

1Lop, your car looks great. Is it lowered? If so, what did you do?

suggestion

guys,

from what i've gathered, alot of people have had cracked fogs/headlights -- one recommendation that is very effective and relatively economical is to apply a 3M clear bra film to the lights. i have this on the whole front end of my car and almost halfway up my hood. the tech who applied it to my fogs said it could "withstand impact from a golf ball at 80 mph" without breaking.

if you go to a good professional tinting place, they should have the 3M clear bra film and can apply it on the car without removing the entire fog light. i left my car with the guy for about an hour or two (he said it took him less than 20 min) and i paid him $40.

one IMPORTANT caveat: stock fog lights are halogens and get very hot, so if you put the clear bra on them, it'll melt/burn the film pretty quickly. what i did was swap out the stock fog lights for HID fogs that are a great color match with my xenons (the HIDs are brighter but get less hot than halogens). the cost for the HID conversion was $100 including installation. needless to say, it was well worth it and I get looks from people, esp at night, all the time...
