i've noticed two benefits since i've gone destaggered.

1. Less understeer

2. Tires last longer since you can route them.

I'm running 235/35/19 all around.

If you could fit a 255 wide tire under the front, then I'd say skip going staggered. As mentioned, then you can rotate your tires and extend the life considerably. However, there is no way I would go with less than a 255 in the rear....expecially on a 19" rim. Anything less than that would look like a bike tire, to me at least.

On the track I run 18inch BBS wheels with 245-35/18 Hoosiers on all four wheels of the C55. This takes out a lot of understeer, and also allows for rotation, but the main reason is understeer. Also drop the rear pressures about 3 pounds less than the fronts, which also reduces understeer. On the street it doesn't make much difference if you keep the stagger. Because I have extra tires in the 245 size I am currently running 245-35s on all four stock 18 in wheels. Since the fronts are made for 225s, the 245s look a little different, pooched out, and appear underinflated, but no problem driving on them. I'm not sure how 19 inch wheels feel under the car compared with 18s. Have seen lots of bent and broken wheels in 19+ sizes.

i have staggered 19s and i love the way they look (real agressive, esp with rear lip) and i feel the handling on turns is markedly better.

i think mine are 225 front and 245 rear, but i can check on that for you...

but i'm all about the staggered look and improved feel

So far I'm undecided on the tires. Right now I have yokohama s drives on my 18's. Got a question, what size rim do you go with? I'm a bit confused, 19x8 front? 19x8.5 front? 19x9 rear? 19x9.5 rear? Anyway, I've heard great things about proxes so I'll def take a look once I figure out the proper rim size. SLEEPER, you are in baltimore, got any mod shop or tire and wheel shop recommendations??? I'm only about one hour from you...

i'll check the specs on my tires when i get home from work tonight and i'll post tonight/tomorrow and let u know.

there's a shop where i know a guy who does great work with alot of very high end cars (AMGs, M5s, etc.), so he knows what he's doing. he's currently doing a new rim/tire install on my brother's car. his name is rod and he's with Nationwide Wheel Repair in Waldorf, MD (it's about 50 min south of baltimore or 35-40 min southeast of DC). he's been real helpful and will call periodically to let us know the car's locked up safely at night, keep us posted on each step of the process, etc. nice guy and knows performance cars.

PS - i drove down to the waldorf area where my family is and hit some windy, country back roads and the car (freshly washed as well ) felt amazing on the turns... my dad, who's much older, even remarked "WOW you don't even FEEL the turns in this car!" as i proceeded to gun it out of the turns...

my point being.... go staggered!
