car wont start.......but why?

Hey guys My car died and I'm trying to get some quick feedback before I take it to the mechanic. I left the dealer (chevy cause I went to get free auto show tix) and like a block away my car died. The battery flashed on the screen and I came to a stop. I put it into park and tried to start, it tries to start, engine cranks but doesn't actually start. I tried to get a jump and didn't change anything. I also checked the connection on the battery everything is fine. The battery is good the lights are fully lit, all accessories work fine. I think its something from starter to maybe alternator.

Any help please....

Relay control module perhaps? Sounds like some of the symtoms.

I second that. If it is the original MB battery, it will eventually die. Maybe the seat heaters drained it. After my old MB battery was gone, I got a Duralast one and it works fine still after a year. Good luck!

Why couldn't I start the car with a jump then if its a bad battery? And like I said, lights and everything works perfectly well, and when I try to start the car the lights don't dim nor flicker.

Thanks.

1+ Check fuse 48? 46? to see if it's loosen. Last time the stealer charged me $1000 to replace the whole unit just because this one fuse loosen. They told me the front SAM burned but it was only the fuse. F**k that stealer.

Also you can disconnect the gas line and turn the key one (no need to crank) to see if the gas pump is ok.

Good luck

Exact thing happened to me, we tried jumping it and it still wouldn't go. I think mine was around 4 years old.

They told me its my fuel pump. I told him about fuse 46 and 48 he said thast I need a new relay cause those fuses were blown and they put new ones and it blown them too. So relay = $25, new fuel pump $1,200 + $600 labor he told me it will be $1,860ish.

That is bs. Just do the fuse (some cents) and relay (20 bucks). No need to invest $1800 in it. If it blows out again you only loose 20 bucks and some cents. Why not go the first round? (do it yourself don't trust them)

Plus no need to replace the relay first so you may be spend only less than a dollar to fix it.

The dealer told me its not the crank positioning sensor. I will just call them and tell them to do the relay for me. My service rep told me $26 for it so I'll have them replace it. I don't believe either that my pump is bad. I think they are trying to shaist me extra $1,500. If i have to do the pump I'll do it myself.

Edit: just got off the phone and the tech told me that He will do the relay but I still gotta do the pump cause its dead. He kept insisting me to get it done lol
