oooooooooooohhhh!!!! Now I get it.
in other cars...like in hondas and such the d2's come with generic top mounts.
The w203 uses a bearing integrated into the top mount, which looks like a propriety design. Basically you either need to buy a separte set or use your old stock ones and put them over the coil over and it attached to the grooves of the chassis.

yeah i never seen top mounts with uneven grooves before..but looking back at it its pretty ingenius of mercedes, so you know for sure there indexed correctly because of the grooves.
For me i think i must've goofed a aligned it slightly off when i was attaching it. thats why i'm getting that clanking sound on the driver side.
