Needswings SuperCooler

Wow, there's some pretty cool stuff going on over in the Crossfire Forum.(no pun intended)
Including some manifolds in testing to gain 40% more airflow?

Hope some of this stuff will fit on our cars too....

And for those of you you cannot see the photos:

Is it a giant heat exchanger? Looks like it goes in front of the radiator?

Im going to say no.... it barely fits the SRT-6. Its really snug between the hood latch and a/c condenser. Ill see if Jake or Andy will let me take some measurements on one of their cars sometime.

Post up in the E55 section so Jangy can check it out. Rob will have an E55 in there soon to verify it fits in there as well.

Is this the same, or different, from the one Woody made from a Summit Racing radiator? IIRC, he was collaborating on some NW projects...

Its a Woody design.... Rob and Woody have been working in conjunction on this and a few other things soon to follow. This is basically a reworked radiator with relocated inlet and outlet. The only thing I do not like about it is that it covers the whole A/C condenser and Radiator. I may look at adding a slim pusher fan to the outside to aid in cooling of the radiator.
~edit~ Or better yet, wire in a relay to the I/C pump and run a slim fan off of that on the front side of the cooler.

I wondered the same thing at first glance. It replaces the heat exchanger though and sits in front of the radiator.

It replaces the heat exchanger.

Note that every intercooler heat exchanger and front mounted air to air intercooler are always mounted before the radiator. Radiators are thermostatically controlled so the water sits in the radiator for a while. Heat exchangers aren't so they need to coolest air possible to work effectively.

This doesn't replace the radiator... it replaces the HE (i.e instead of a Code 3 or LET type HE). This one allegedly holds more, flows more, and cools better - that said, it's probably a non-issue for C32's anyway - I doubt it would fit. Good option for the SLK-32 and SRT-6 folks, however.

Woody's (waldig) prose is, well, a little... different - that said, he definitely knows his stuff, and tests mods scientifically to the "nth" degree. If anyone cares to read more about these, follow the links:

http://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/...ad.php?t=28137

http://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/...ad.php?t=28904

As I mentioned earlier - probably a non-issue for C32's anyway... I doubt it would fit our chassis configuration.
