Hi guys and gals,

I am quite excited today, finally got my dual exhaust done! Here are some pics of the pipes being fitted and installed.

The exhaust note is really mean BUT, it's too loud! I knew from begin this setup is going to be loud, but I never expected to be that loud. The only place I can put the muffler is where the resonator used to be. Now I am thinking to put a resonator or a round straight through muffler on the left side. However, I have no idea where to put the one on the right side. Hope someone can point me to the right direction. Thanks in advance!

what kind of muffler is it? if it's the kind that uses some type of packing, give it a few hundred miles to break in. any type of muffler i've used that had packing in it, sounded a little more mellow after it was broken in a tad. just a thought before you throw some more money at it.

Or you just had lost enough hearing capacity.

I had an exhaust setup like that with those magnaflow muffler in the same location. It droned like crazy and was too loud. I would also scrape all the time since the muffler was 2-3" lower than the chassis. I ditched that setup and placed two long glasspacks where the resonator goes and put a magnaflow muffler in the rear. Sounds much better and not too loud.

You should find a place to put an aero resonator or a magnaflow resonator in the exhaust. The drone will drive you crazy...

Great info! Thanks pshek!

The drone is driving me nuts haha. When you say you put a Magnaflow exhaust at the back instead, was it only on the side where the OEM muffler used to be? Cus we all know the other side won't allow anything other than the pipe itself.

I am thinking about getting either an Aero resonator or a Magnaflow 4" round muffler to put at where the OEM muffler used to be. Is there any difference in air flow between a resonator and a straight through muffler? I just know that resonator is usually unpacked and straight through muffler is packed.

what pshek said or you can add two glasspack at where the straight section is on both side near the end.

Thanks Frank,

I will give my exhaust guy a call tomorrow. I really hope there is enough room to fit a 4" round resonator on the right side. 4" is the skinniest one I can find, if you know any thinner, please let me know. Thanks!

If it sounds good on the outside, and you love loud cars (meaning a good loud) try to learn to live with it before you change anything. If you jusy cant take it anymore then change it. Like the band KISS said 'Love it loud!"

so i went ahead and got these quad done on my car, only to notice that the guy did not put any mufflers on the car he just left the resonator and split it with a y pipe like the picture above. now I have loud C32 with no muffler which is verry irritating because it sounds like a hoda, its sunday now i cant do anything about it till next week so now my question is what are my options. i still have the stock muffler in my trunk. is there a any muffler i can get that is remotely as quiet as the stock one ? I mean love the quad in the back but the sound is a nightmare anything over 2k RPM is extremely loud please I need some serious help. oh by the way anybody knows if those glasspacks might help ?

could the extreme loudness be due to the fact your basically sitting on the muffler? having a tailpipe half the length of your car has to have a great affect on the drone also. i dont any type of h pipe or x pipe to equalize the exhaust either
just an observation
