C55 Oil Catch Can
thinking of installing oil catch cans (have had them on turbo cars in the past-cheap and I feel good mod)-
(1) Think a C55 "needs" them?
(2) How many do I need ( I think I see 2 breather hoses from the top of the valve-any more I'm missing?)
(3) How is it taking the intake mani off and cleaning it (for those that have had the fun)-is there anything I should/would look at replacing at the time I pull the mani off?
Thanks guys-this forum has been very helpful not only on the C55-but future buying as well!

We've done a few on the M113 engine cars and could help point you in the right direction.
There are three ingestion points for the oils to get into the intake, 2 a top the TB and one on the side of the inlet elbow. With those three ingestion points, there are also three vacuum points to reconnect.
We have systems readily available for these cars using AN fittings and Hi-temp hose. PM me if you have any questions.

Ever since I personally replaced both leaking valve covers a week after I bought my C55 a couple months ago, I've been wondering about this. The real question is, why do we need a catch can?
Is the oil managed poorly by the engine, or is there just a lot of crankcase pressure? Is there a PCV? If so, is it just too small? If not, how is the crankcase pressure managed?
The car has a mass air meter, so, unlike a speed density car, we can't just put a breather in the valve covers. A catch can may be the only logical solution.
I guess I just need to spend some more time under the hood and see how everything's laid out.

yeah...me too-I found 2 spots where they would go-TVT states there are 3-and I looked at what it takes to pull the intake mani out-wow. this isnt a 10-15 install (I dont see the point of catch cans if the intake is still dirty-I cant imagine the sludge that is on the inside of it....ewwwww.....)
