Long tube headers

This question is for the guys that installed long tube headers.

When installing LT headers, you must remove the primary. So when you did install the LT's, you drove to the exhaust shop open headers correct?

Some shops will do the header install and the actual cutting/welding required..

I may potentially be in the same boat as you. Other than it being loud I think it may be ok if its for a relatively short distance. Anybody else want to chime in?

Very damn loud. Also you might want to put double O2 spacer so you can get rid of the cat.

Get an O2 simulator for the post cat position so you can dump the cat, at least the primary, and not get an CEL's.

Wawy you are right, just get the ecu done then you can handle your business. If you can save some pennies and just tow it maybe about $30 or $50 dollars depends how far and toss the rest of the exhaust right under the car on the flat bed. Btw it does sound crazy loud. That's what I did, the main shop I go to charged me $400 and the exhaust shop was about $300 including high flow cats.

Which shop in town are you having do the work? An hour at highway speed is going to be ridiculously loud. I'd look into a tow personally.

Ahh that brings back an awesome memory. My Dad and I were building a hot rod pickup and installed a set of headers. Exhaust shop was a good 20 plus miles away. ****! that thing sounded awesome but if we got caught by the cops who knows what they would have done...
