I dont really know what else to say? The car was kinda hit or miss all night with its shifting. The MT's hooked up real well. For a few runs the car just seemed to come together for an 11.75 @116MPH with a 60FT of 1.567.

I also ran a 11.80 @115MPH. That was on my first race so right out of the box i broke my past record. I was racing Chiromikey's E55. He spun off the line and most of us know first hand his car runs very very low 11's Plus He almost got booted for running an 11.3 on his first pass. It made for a very close race with me running an 11.80 and Mikey running a 11.83. His car will blow me out of the water and I can only win if he spins.

Time slips
11.80 @115MHP

11.75 @116MHP

I Love smoky burnouts!

Here are the video

Don't sell yourself short. The time slip says 1.5672. Five thousandths is five thousandths . Take all you can get. BTW nice 60'. You are almost down to Blackbenzz territory.

Bravo hooleyboy - those're outstanding times! Looks like your MT's really are hooking well for you - how would you rate them vs. the Hoosiers?

Did your brother bring his CLS out? Frankly, you won't really have to worry about an E55 or CLS55 if they're stock.

Its really hard to say what tire is better at this point they both hook so well, we had good track prep IMO, and it was better than the last time o was out there. its hard to argue with an 11.75 MTs and 11.98 hoosier. The MTs are heavier but I can run more air PSI in them and still hook.

Yep - a quarter-second is a big deal when you're as low as you are already. Thanks for the feedback - now update your sig.

It's still early but for now, the engine internals are holding up but I would be nervous about running that much boost over 1 year. You will start to see some damage to the piston rings. I only ran 8psi for 6 months before two pistons started to go.

I hear that Blackbenzz runs 8psi but his car has 10.5:1 CR while the C55's run 11.3:1 CR. So both Hooley and Alumnar better consider the long term consequences of running over 8psi on an 11.3:1 CR motor.

I have a tapped surge tank to monitor boost on the dyno and I'm not even at 8psi.

Whew! That's great to hear. Did you finally get a smaller SC crank pulley or alter the accessory pulleys some more to lower the boost? If you run 7psi or under everything should be fine as I was told by several tuners.

I'm just barley at 7psi. This car is so strange. It has so much power down low. We tweaked the tune the other day because I was pulling timing up top. So we fixed that and it made me faster as predicted by the guys at Dyno-Comp.

What wheels were you running this time? diameter and brand? Were they CCWs? What's the best drag wheel based on what you've heard?

I run $89 rims from tirerack 16x7.5 inch for a C230 I right now an using MTs 255/50/16 and they rub a bit. Its very hard to say what drag radials are better Hoosiers or Mickys. I like them both. Also I get a check engine light every time I race with RDs It goes away when I put my street tire back on.

That rubbing could have cost you a few tenths. LOL

So these wheels clears your brakes but I don't know if they will clear Brembo GT Monoblocks. What will you do for wheels once you upgrade the brakes?

If you plan on tracking the car instead of straight drags. Bigger stronger brakes will be necessary to keep up with the modified M3s, RS4s, C63s or even CLK BS but that's another topic altogether. Any plans on tracking it in the near future?

The advantage of C55 over an E55 is the twistys so once you can consistently beat the E55 and E63s in a straight line then the next challenge is to take on the CLK BS at the track.

Awesome times Hooley!

Do you think there is any chance of hitting 10s before you start messing with the internals? I know you are a good way off right now, but it seems like you are really still in the trial and error testing phase.

You might as well keep it. As you know modified used cars recoup about 10-30% of their investment based on what I've seen. Besides, unless you plan on switching makes/brands, your car can break the MB record. Look at Ahmad's 2001 CLK55 that is already close to that and will likely break it with a TB mod and NOS.
