is this a serious question? i'm not trying to flame, but no way a c230 would keep up with a c55. The power advantage will destory any kind of weight savings the c230 would have.

I think he's basing it purely off of a suspension question, not a question of raw power.

the C55 engine only weights like 350lbs. The C230 would get trashed in every aspect on the track by a C55. Power also has the ability to get you out of trouble too.

Hey man, that's a good question.

Last time I went autocrossing a friend with a C230 (the non-supercharged one) came along. I won by a bit more than a second, but the way their system counts up the points he won because his car was in a far lesser class.

Off topic, but the autocross point system is quite some BS. I stoped going after that time.

Back on topic, I had lots of understeer, and if you are buying a car strictly for autocross then I say pull the triger on the 230 and have some serious cash left over. But if you are getting it for something more serious, like a real track, then get the C55.

A C230SS would get killed by a C55 (frankly, or by a C32) at any autox, drag, or road racing - assuming equal driver ability. It would go better, stop better, turn better, and look better doing it Stock vs. stock, modded vs. modded, wouldn't really matter IMHO.

thanx alot guys i aprreciate it but it was only a suspension based question ...wat i meant was like the weight distrobution and all of that..like i thought that the c230's distrobution is closer to 50 than the c55 is thats all

Not terrible considering a big honking V8 stuffed into a sedan made for smaller engines.

Still its on his aviator and people like me and jturkel will presume the same...if it said on quest to then I understand but he puts it directly as that then C55....confusing to many who know not of him.

I measured my C230 SS (M272, 7 speed auto) to be about 55/45 with me in it and half a tank... it looks like there may be no appreciable weight distribution difference.

I can measure it again today without me in it and with a full tank (because I just filled up) or any other configuration you guys want.
