SUSPENSION #2

so guys what in your opinion or track experience is better for the track

..bilstein pss9.....kw v2..... koni adjustables/h&r race spring combo.....

i dont want a speech of how the c55 is already good enough for the track but i tracked it last week and i noticed that there is a bit of body roll, not enough 2 notice but enough to make u spin on a twist .i also noticed the under steer the c55 had its not as much as u guys say it is but better springs and dampers will reduce it alot ....please reply guys

why not just start with larger sway bars first and see if you like it. Larger sway bars will reduce your body roll and understeer. Coil overs will not reduce body roll. It will lower your center of gravity so you can turn better.

+1-Unless you know what track set up you want-dont invest in coils yet-you may not see a gain in them with your driving style.
Do the front and rear sways, and brakes and see what you like-

well i dont think the eibachs will fit the c55 i wanted h&r sway cause theyre adjustable ...this just makes me want to sell my c55 V V V

You might expect this stiff ride quality to equate with crisp racetrack handling, but that was not the case. There was a surprising amount of up-and-down motion in the suspension, accompanied by relentless understeer, which was aggravated by high steering effort at almost any speed. Mercedes seems to be making the old GM mistake of confusing effort with feel, and in this case it has created an exaggerated sense of mass, even though the Benz was the lightest car in the group.

I'm with Temjin on the sways. Also what tires are you using? I saw a massive improvement in overall steering stability and handling after replacing Pirellis with Bridgestone Re050-PP tires. Totally changed the car for the better. Still some minor slight understeer in tight, slow or off camber corners but was able to transistion this to slight oversteer with application of right foot to throttle. Course I am running a C32 so it has a ton of torque down low which helps with transitions and slow corner exits. Overall they are way better track cars than expected.

i use r-crompound yokohama advan a048 semi -slicks on the track and theyre amazing the handling of the car is really good but im trying to get a stiffer suspension so the understeer and body roll is untracable....but like i was asking which set up is better...bilstein pss9.....kw v2..... koni adjustables/h&r race spring combo??????

and the eibachs sways wont fit the c55 the h&r's will and their adjustable ...wat car and driver said about the c55 on handling really broke my heart but then again theyre americans what do they know about handling

I've got the H+R's on now and have def noticed an improvment on the side to side-as for the up down-remember, this is a 3500# sedan-there's going to be some no matter what (excluding a full prep-but that would destroy the DD ability of the car-a waste imho)-

white and whiter
the Eibachs fit and are also adjustable for the front.

those setup you listed improves the handling characteristic much less than swaybars will help you.
