Secondary Cat Delete Question, C32
When deleting the secondary cats and them with pipes (i want to use SS), what diameters pipe should I replace it with? i know my resonator was replaced with a 3'. Also, what length in piping would I need to replace them both?
Thanks,
Josh

I wouldnt be too concerned with the BP on the 32's either-2.75" is correct-as for length-ummmm.....is a shop doing it/weld in, or are you flanging everything for easy swap/emissions inspection?

I just completed this mod a month ago. I used 2 1/2" SS 304 pipe into the stock Y-pipe. Then more of the same pipe into 2 3/4" Supersprint exhaust.
I got the pipes from these guys. Super fast shipping.

I'm also confirming that that at the resonator location, the piping is 2 3/4".

Sounds like it. I recommend you talk to the people that will be doing the job and let them measure everything, figure out how they can connect everything and then tell you what parts and the sizes you will need. This is not engine work where you need to be exact. There are a few different ways to connect these pipes.

Out of curiousity, how much, on average, does an exhaust shop charge to chop the secondary cats? I'm thinking about doing this and a res delete at the same time, and wanted to know what I should be paying.

well i think i have to have 3" somewhere because that is what i replaced my resonator with. i think the pipe going into the secondaries is 2 1/2" which is why i think i need to have a 2 1/2" to 3", no?
my resonator delete cost me 50 in labor and 30 for the pipe (it was a 3" SS pipe that was like 2 or 3 ft long)

tech. a shop shouldnt be taking the cats out-so they may play dumb if you ask-after hours-depends on the pipe again, but some would give you a "what if" # if it was in the air.

These are secondary cats. What purpose do they serve?

He said you have several options for joining the 2.75" to 3" pipes and should have no drawbacks from it. Any reason they replaced yours with 3" pipes in the first place?

I guess mine is 2.75" all around, not 2.5" as I previously stated. I started to doubt myself after my previous post and asked the guy that did the work for me.

I've already done it and have clips on youtube. Pretty sure you had commented on the sound in the past even. The soundclip I posted is old but it does it justice. I can't post a link from work but can tonight if you want.

I considered it since I also have a Supersprint muffler, but given the cost, decided to keep the original y-pipe. Basically, its the Eurocharged header, primary cats, new pipe, original y-pipe, new pipe followed by Superspint muffler.
