www.powerchipgroup.com lists their chip tuning will take the C32 to 380HP. Here is there data sheet advertising:

The chip is not legal for California vehicles.

if anyone in LA wants to try this (since they're located in santa monica), they offer a 14-day money back guarantee! now i'm curious to know if the claim they state is true. evosport, do you want to try them out?

Well the Gold 91 sounds good to me for the U.S. and no expensive. Additionally, they do not offer remove the speed limiter that frankly is not a big deal here at the U.S. ether.

Just talked to Travis at Powerchip. The chip does remove the speed limiter.
I will be there omorrow to have the chip reprogramed. I'll let you guys know how it turn out.
PC517 has 314 rwh, I should be close to it. Hopfully afther the chip I'll be at 335-340 rwh.

amgc32, did you ask them if their chip works well w/ a overdrive pulley along w/ other future modifications? let us know what you think about it and possibly do a dyno before and after just to make sure the increase is really there. hopefully this will be the one.

thanks!!

amgme,

I have the exact same setup as PC527. Therefore I am just going to base on his dyno result which is 314rwh.
I am hoping to get at least 335rwh after the chip.
We'll see

amgc32,

Even with the same wheels, tires, and ODPS, without a dyno prior to the software, you will not be able to accurately determine how much hp is gained/lost. We have dyno'd several C32's, and they all fluctuate in power (as delivered by MB).

I dynoed my car at GRC in Mission Viego. I got 308 rwh without the fan blowing at my car.
I am doing another dyno at Vadim's next monday after the chip.

I think the chip will have to be tuned for a car with a modified pulley. The chip is tuned for a stock C32 not one with an oversized pulley. I'd be very surprised if you didn't see detonation. However, if they are close to Evosport and can truly tune the chips, Evosport might be able to work something out with them to deliver a chip that does work well with a modified car.

We will give them a try. If they deliver even half of what they promise, they will be ahead of others.

amgc32, i would mention to them that you have a modified pulley that is non-stock. i had a few email exchanges w/ joel from powerchips and he asked how much boost was added w/ the ODP before i purchase. i assume that he is asking because he mentioned doing additional programming to suit the new pulley.

Powerchips will be ready to do tuning by April. We are working on an agreement to help them develop software for different power levels for MB and BMW models specifically for 91 California gas.

Stay tuned.

Should I take Vadim's post to infer that EVOsport feels that Powerchips is a worthy vendor? I know you all have been very skeptical of some other chip makers claims.

Is this who you are working with to develop the chips you mention on your website or is the development arrangement a recent event? What about Powerchips 91 octane chip already on their website?

I am lucky enough to have Sunoco Ultra 94 available and would really like to see some real dyno information on the 93 chip in an otherwise stock car.

Thanks in advance for the information.

Carl: Yes, Powerchips is well known in Australia. I like the fact that they are willing to work with us. We will get a better answer in April.

Bverotti: They are in the process of moving and getting CARB certification that will enable them to sell in California. By April we hope to start testing and tuning.

Thanks Vadim!

I appreciate how you post so much information and dyno proof about your development of your ODPS upgrade including both your developmental successes and failures. As I said, I would love to see the real dyno information on the C32 Powerchip product from the Powerchip folks as well.

I would also like to investigate the issue of re-flashing a chip later for upgrades. For example, if I go chip only first and then add a pulley kit later my chip tuning wouldn't be optimal. Does this mean I need to pay for a chip again?

Carl: Thank you.

This is our philosophy.

As far as Powerchips, as soon as we can do some testing, I will post the results. Ideally I would like to offer POWER STAGES with matching software. At this time I do not know exactly how it is going to work out. This is something that we will be negotiating with Powerchips.
