Why no good/bad dealer/mechanic section?

I am still looking for a good independent mechanic after an awful experience with my local dealer and a couple other independent shops. I think it would be super helpful to put a section here somewhere to list experiences with dealers and mechanics (by state?) so others can help reward good business practices when found. I doubt I'm the first to think of this, so is there a reason why it doesn't already exist? Should I just post a thread about my experiences in hopes somebody else will search some day?

yes, or start a thread that does this exact thing: people posting lists of good and bad dealerships or mechanics with location and stuff. you should start it!

this is a great idea. far more relevant than a watch, photography or aviation sub forum. i posted a thread asking for a good recommendation in the nashville area and didnt get any responses, but good luck with your search!!

I would LOVE to find or have someone tell me where I could take my 03 C32 here in the Phoenix area. If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

How about something with a format like this:

Location: City, State, Zip (so users can search the thread)
Name:
Work Performed:
Rating (1-5):
Would Return/Recommend: Yes/No

Make it a sticky thread with those instructions at the top.

I actually live in Maricopa Jturkel. Any ideas on where I can take my C32 other then a Stealer. It's time for the oil change and I asked at the locale MB Dealer and they want 350 bucks to change the oil. I know it includes other checks but they'll just tell me I need to spend MORE money on other things...LOL.

Hope I am not Hijacking the thread. Sorry if I am.

Well this is an encouraging response from one of the smaller sub-forums; I wager folks in the other sub-forums feel similarly. I was thinking of a section on the main forum page listing either states or regions that folks like us could populate with threads of good and bad experiences. Guess I'll ask the mods if it would be possible (I have no knowledge of how to organize a page such as this).

EDIT: Well I posted the request in the site suggestion section. I encourage you guys to make your interest known on that thread so maybe the mods will think the effort is worth it. I also noticed that this section is actually one of the more active on the board, even though the number of C32s and C55s seems small relative to the total number of Mercs out there. Weird.
