I may need a resonator, spare anyone?

I am kicking myself in the butt now for not keeping my reasonator or cats when I had them removed. I have enough spare parts to nearly complete another 32, but of course don't have what I'm looking for.

Anyway, I don't have the Weltmeister exhaust hooked up yet, but I have a feeling this sucker is going to be loud....perhaps even too loud, which I never thought I'd say. Weltmeisters exhaust is supposed to be pretty gnarly even with full oem exhaust, but add in headers, 200 cell front cats, no resonator or rear cats....I'm thinking I may need a resonator to tone her down some. I'd like to have one on hand when I do the install just in case it sounds like butt w/o it. Then I could just have them slap an oem resonator on there on the spot.

Does anyone have one laying around they aren't planning on using? I would rather be safe than sorry. Thanks guys!

I got one, for a C55. I would just give it to you for free if you would cover shipping of say.. $10? let me know.

If that doesnt work for you I'm sure someone has one they would be willing to give you. I mean really most C32/C55 guys are never going to use it agian once its chopped out and its just about worthless (costwise) to a bunch of us.

More than fair and greatly appreciated, Hooley! I hope it wasn't implied that I was expecting to get one for free in my initial post. Although they are more or less "worthless" to most, I would still be willing to cough up more than just shipping cost to be fair.

I haven't looked under a 55 lately, but I assume they use the same diameter tubing and should weld right in place same as the OEM 32 resonator? I wouldn't be suprised if they were identical. Assuming it works, please PM me your paypal info and I'll shoot some fundage your way. Thanks again Hooley!

So unless you like LOUD, is this a lesson learned..do not remove your sec cats after removing the resonator?

I've removed my resonator and it's just right.. could use a little bit more low frequency sound, though.

With the stock AMG exhaust, I love the sound with the resonator and rear cats deleted. I like it even more with high flow front cats and headers. It's not really louder....just deeper, meaner sounding.

Now, with the Weltmeister in place of the AMG muffler, it sounds as though it's just rediculous. I haven't personally heard it yet though. It sounds like 1qikctr is speaking from experience as well.

possibly but what high flow front cats are you using? are yours metallic or ceramic? cell count? i was concerned a while ago about switching mine out b/c from what i heard about people having their aftermarket ones foul out or go bad.

I'm using Magnaflow 200 cell cats. Beyond that I'm not really sure. They are supposedly the best they offered without being a full on "race" version.

Are you saying Qikctr has Weltmeister mufflers in place of stock AMG already and was horrified enough to go back to stock mufflers?

He'd have to answer that. I presume so based on his comment however.

the secondary is pass the o2 sensors, so it shouldn't trigger CEL, but as to if it'll pass the emission that I have no idea.

hehe yeah, my SC is pretty loud. I will try w/o the resonator first and go from there. I feel better knowing I'll have Hooleys old one on hand just in case.

Here's this old clip you'll remember as well. Stock with no res or rear cats. Did that within a few weeks of buying the car.
