Thanks for your feedback everybody but FD just explained everything to me and I am confident this project will be completed by June 30th.
This thread is causing alot of disruption to his business with many of you calling him directly and I don't want his time taken away from completing my project.
I will start another thread on July 1st showing the completed project/car with pics of all the installed components and some dynos following by drag ETs. Vadim will accompany me to the track and we will video tape the event when it goes deep into the 10's without N2O, street wheels and tires and stock exterior and interior.

I couldnt agree more, Sponsors need to be held accountable too. I am a sponsor and I would expect if I offered a product to a member and couldn't deliver on things like prompt refunds, Timely work, and so on to be held accountable for that.
So this thread is "rightfully so." I'm not sure if problems like this make other members scared to do biz with sponsors, it just cant reflect good on sponsors as whole.
Robert, this is not your first time having a grip with Vadim if I recall, nor is this a members first gripe with Vadim. If what Vadim said to you has set you at ease than thats great. However I feel you have every right to voice your opinion and start a thread like this.
It seem members would rather shoot around PM's about bad experiences than talk about them publicly. Sure thats fine but it hinders the public from having all the info when choosing a vendor. Robert, I commend you for talking about this publicly.
Just remember the poll speaks for its self, most members think it will fail at this point but that doesn't mean we want YOU to fail. I want to see this build come to life just like everyone else. Keep up your resolve.

What do you suggest? finish by 2010? BK?
Think I'm gonna call the machine shop guy and ask him what's the delay. I hope he doesn't say he hasn't been paid yet so no work has begun.
That would really suck. I dread thinking about what the Bernie Madoff investors went through.
Off course...if I start getting pics and eyewitness the rapid progress then I will be less anxious. The reasons for the recent delays in order of most recent were:
1) 1 bolt was missing.
2) Rod bearing color code mismatch.
3) Two valves were missing.
4) Machine Shop guy was sick.
5) He was sick.
6) Piston tolerances needed reinspection by Ross.
7) Pistons were errroneously made to stock compression.
There are more but I'd have to dig up my emails, voicemails or try recalling from memory. I'm seriously running out of patience. I've already paid $15K of the $19K for this build and I am fukin nervous as hell based on some rumors I'm hearing. If I'm being played then there's going to be hell to pay for.

Whoa you paid 19K for an engine build? Damn we're letting our's go for under 5K. I really need to up the prices...

im surprised it got so far into this thread before that came up. unless the majority of the parts are made of unobtanium or something, that seems extremely steep. custom hard parts can definitely run the pricing up, but damn. Good to hear that youre getting some resolve on your build, im anxious to see it finished.

Is the torque converter also custom? Who is making it? Does that include giving them your OE TC?

The TC is from LET. Yes they open up the stock TC and redo the vanes inside. As for the control arms they are $1200 + tax + $600 install labor. The arms are a set of 3-4 arms on each side in the rear wheels

Wow. No votes for on-time right quality completion? If FD pulls this off it would shock all the voters including myself. And I would owe him 3

I wish you nothing but the best but by looking at the complexity of your project, I doubt that ur car will run by end of this month.

We resleeve the block add custom pistons, crank, and rods. Just because it has a MB name on it doesn't mean it needs to cost more. I think 5K for a short block (you already have the rest of the motor I'm assuming) is more then reasonable. Honestly you can get a set of very light weight forged one off pistons for like 1200-1500 for a set of 8.
I'm not arguing with a vendor's pricing but come on now. Are you telling me it costs more to build an engine for a MB then a Corvette, Viper, etc.? And the MB engine won't see anywhere near the power of what the others would.
And after you add the other things together you are still left with a 10K short block...

Are you offering that price as firm fixed now?
Hooley and Blackbenzz...Does Anthony's prices reflect the market?

Sounds like you're just pulling these figures out of the air. At the end of the day you'll be right at $19K if not more for all of what AMGSC is doing to his project, not just his engine build.

It’s swell that you supply your customers with relatively inexpensive hardware and labor. Know you’ve earned a bit of cred amongst some of the NE contingent. However, it wasn’t too long ago you were shilling up the joint with some rather ridiculous and disingenuous posts under your former stallion8797 screen name. Perhaps you could supply TVT’s wares and expertise around here and be able to retire comfortably while still a young man? You’re no doubt aware that a properly prepared aluminum-block SBC and its reciprocating assembly capable of reliably delivering 500+ horsepower has a ‘racer net’ of more than $5000 from even reputable mail order vendors. Invariably more when the completed long block and its ancillary components are installed, tested, and tuned by preeminent local talent. Economy of scale for Mercedes-Benz parts notwithstanding
Ross fabricates very high quality components. Helped install some of their CNC machinery as they’re ~four miles from here. Worked alongside Edelbrock and Probe Industries' engineers during my prime, too. Tom Lieb’s Scat is a stone’s throw, but the majority of his stuff is imported from Asia. No disrespect intended to our upstanding Asian members. Carrillo, Crower, and ARP are hardly giving away their quality goodies these days – even during our lackluster economy. Competent machining, assembly expertise, and performance-oriented workshop rates are typically north of the $120 per hour neighborhood around here.
Had Vadim’s shop fit hardware – some of which was designed by him while he was with evosport – on mine. He and his staff have always treated me fairly and done excellent work. Not sucking up or kissing ***, simply sharing my firsthand experiences. I paid full fare.
AMGSC-
While we have exchanged some good-natured barbs in the past, I sincerely hope for you only the best with your project.
