Seen this in my Travels today. Not at Dyno-Comp. I really dont know what to think.
This is a STI with a c32 kompressor.

I was just commenting that its unique. If my legacy wasnt under warranty I could be making 400+ hp with bolt ons. No way I would put a SC on my subie either.

Mini was working on a dual FI set up-SC and Trubo-there are (unfortunatly) a couple here in MN-they do make decent powa-and they are unique. Real powa freaks go with a small snail (K03 or T3 set up) and a fat 72mm+
good find!

Seems so much easier to just run an aggressive ball bearing turbo, that would take care of most of the lag issue, seems like way too much weight on the front of the car, that thing must understeer quite a bit.
+1 for uniqueness though

This setup is not that un-common. It's called compound boosting. The theory is that by adding the supercharger you in essence enlarge the engine. Tuned properly, a once 2.0-2.5L engine is now acting like a 3.0-4.0L which reduces turbo lag by a HUGE margin. It's very popular amongst the newest generation of "time attack" cars.

Besides, i'm not sure how many here have actually driven a subaru, but the turbo is located on that side from the factory.

They get their rumble from the uneven length of the headers.

Actualy Panzerknacker is right. There are tons of companies who sell equal length headers. When installed, the trademark subaru sound is gone. Infact, the sound is just like any other 4cyl car on the road. Think honda/toyota/mitsubishi.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Also, porsche engines are boxter motors and do not have that muscle car rumble.
