Talking Just Got My "Week-end Beater" Back From HPF

Hi Gang:

As many of you know, I have been and continue to be a very passionate BMW aficionado, more particularly of the Motorsport division.

I first started my journey into the BMW FI realm with my e39 via VF, and have since then owned two e46 M3's, of which, the most recent started as a VF Stage 1, shortly followed by a Stage 2, and two months ago in the quest for more boost, upgraded to a Stage 2+ "Drew Style" with T trim Vortech blower and Snow Performance Water Meth injection.

Because of my serious "adrenaline" illness, I recently sent my car to Portland, OR in excellent care of the stand up guys: Chris, David, John, Geoff... to have the M outfitted with a Stage 2 Turbo system.

The original dismantle, install, and transformation can be found here on the e46Fanatics forum.

The following pics are of the car complete just before being placed on the car transporter headed home.
I have prepared myself for a couple sleepless nights.

Enjoy the pics, and again, a BIG THANK YOU to the guys at HPF.

Gorgeous - congrats on a beautiful ride! Lotta M3 haters 'round these parts, but I've always liked them myself... especially what HPF's done with the E46's.

How well does the SMG tranny handle that much power?

Wow......I too have been impressed by how much power HPF can add to a 3.2L I6. And you maintain that high redline too, which is awesome.

I'm curious whether a fully Kleemanized (supercharged) C55 AMG has any chance in beating one of these turbocharged E46 M3's in a straight line race. Maybe some of our supercharged C55 members (hooley, alumar) can chime in about their thoughts or experience......

HPF M3s are no joke..I really doubt SC C55 can handle turbo m3s.. I look forward to having one when I move back to the states..

Please keep us posted about the reliablity issues.. I still have my doubts on the SMG tranny with all that HP...

Also, if you don't mind, can you pm me the final price for the kit? (Parts / labor / etc).

Amazing ride!! Enjoy it!!

For whatever reason (gearing? traction?) they're not as quick as you might think in the 1/4 mile. Fastest ones AFAIK are mid 11's @ ~130 mph. Don't get me wrong, that's really quick - but probably not what you'd expect for a sports car with that much horsepower...

If I was to ever own an M car, it would go straight to the boys at HPF. They have some absolute monster cars coming out of there. Very nice ride you have there!! Now just get those windows tinted.

Great to see you got it back! I'm S54PWR on E46Fanatics, I read the thread about your car that Chris posted. Enjoy the car! Hope you don't mind if I post a few HPF Vids in your thread for those to see.

For those who never seen them in action here are a few pull clips for the uninformed.

Stage 2 Pump + Methanol Pull:

I'm sure the OP will be making his own set of videos soon as well.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
The SMG tranny has held up real well - thus far.
There are more powerful stages out there (in excess of 900rwhp) with the same tranny, and no issues reported.

I will be installing a 6pot BBK shortly.
Brakes and traction are my biggest issues right now.
