First project complete......Plugs
All I can say is what a @#*& of a job it is to do plugs on this car and I do car projects/mods as a hobby, Jeez.
In retrospect, for those who are contemplating, I would have labeled the wires and taken off the coils. It was not until the last plug on the right side that I took a coil off, then I was like damn! should have done this to begin with. For me on this car, the hardest part was actually the removal of the old wires, as this was seeminly the first time they had come off.
So it was very apparent that the plugs were the originals, yet they were all exactly the same as far as color and wear which is good. They had been worn to just over .040.
The difference with the new plugs is night and day. Silent idle and far better throttle responce.
Next up.....IC Pump this weekend!!
Now that you've knocked that out, all your other projects will be cake.

Yah PITA is the appropriate phrase. I would put my self probably in the 85th percentile for ability on DIY car projects and this took me the better part of 3 hrs to do...I think alot had to do with how hard it was for the wire removal/install. I could do this in half the time if I did it again though.
I would also make a strong recommendation to others to purchase wire boot lubricaton. I found some after my 7th wire and after that, instal was 3 times easier to get that final click.

Due to PULStar's hype, and it is just that - hype, I will never purchase any of their crap. Just my opinion....

1: remove the intake tubes and the baffles that hold the filters. # 25 torx and the bafles just pop off the stubs. I did NOT remove the actual top along with the back intake attached to the Throttle body, buts thats only because i could not see how to get the back part lower tab off and i was already running late.
2: At this point, you could "choose" to remove the coils. I "highly" recommend this in retrospect . I did not but I learned my lesson. As long as you mark the wires. It is really very simple. Counting from the front of the car the 1,3,5 wires on both sides go to the TOP coil connect, the 2,4,6 go on bottom.
Standing on the left of the car the 1,3.5 wires plug to the RIGHT plug, from the right they plug to the left plug.. obvioulsy the opposite for the even wires. follow me??
The coils each have one single # 30 torx and the come completely out of the way.
Then its off you go to remove the plugs. You MUST have a universal joint spark plug socket, or a normal socket with a universal attachment. You also need 2 different extentions. I used a 3/8 ratchet.
I would also strongly suggest spark plug wire boot lubrication, it will make plugging them back on far far easier.
The far back plugs are more difficult, especialy the right side last 2 but without the coils(doh !!) it will be WAY easier.
With the NGK's they have kind of a double washer.. designed to compress, you need to tighten until the compression is done.. no further.. or follow torque specs
Have fun
