Problem with the C55

Hey guys!!
Ok so as I am driving yesterday i go to switch lanes and my steering wheel gets very hard to turn.
Felt like I had no power steering. then It went away.
Now While i am stoped its impossible to turn my wheel. The second I apply gas to the car i can turn it very easy again.
Can someone help me and tell me what it is
Thanks guys!
When these type of things happen I want to trade in the car lol

Check your pulleys, steering fluid and pump.

I have the same problem, and I could not figure out what went wrong! No leaks, pulleys are all good... and no whining sounds from steering pump when turning... The strange thing this happen after 1 hour of continues driving, and after the car cools off, the power steering returns to normal!

sounds like you might have a fault with the speed sensitive power steering.
I would normally be inclined to think it is the pump but the fact that it happened whiled driving on the highway makes me think the sps is having problems. There is a solenoid on the steering rack that can go bad. It would have a code most likely. Have it checked out.

Ok so i was taking a look at the Power steering res. and what is normal?
When I pulled the cap out the meter read about half way up.
Should I just add power steering fluid and then take it from there?

Alright so after a lon day yesterday I go to put power steering fluid and it didnt do anything.
I called a guy I know that just works on mercedes and I got the Power steering Pump and res. installed brand new becuase supposively the old one was leaking and caused the reason for steering being bad.
I ended up spending $620 including the parts and labor.
and now the car drives perfect..
