Thumbs up

Hey fellas,

I decided to order an aftermarket pulley from Code3 Performance. Brandon was very helpful in answering my questions. The customer service was excelent. The order was placed Wed. and wouldn't you know, it's already here! There, sitting on my porch was the recipe for a smile all weekend .

So, with what little energy I had left from work, I removed the small air pipes, and the belt by way of the tensioner. The pulley requires more torque than I can apply to remove it, so i'll swing by the hardware store in the morning for a nice metal strap wrench. I'll be sure to update the site with my driving impressions when I finish.

Before I forget, there absolutely was a sale, Brandon honored the price as well.

In fact, I would have ordered my Intercooler Pump from Code3 instead of APE, but they were out of stock. That will arrive next week I believe.

had to use a deadblow hammer to get my oem pulley off. it was a b*&tch to get off!!! the bearing inside the pulley was failing and burnt.

its not easy, especially when the car is hot, because the heat expands the metal, making it more difficult for the s.c pulley to come off. its a night and day difference when the car is hot and cold as far as how easy it is to remove the pulley

first time, definitely used a hammer too when it was hot though, but not hitting directly on the pulley. hit a rubber pad i placed over the pulley so as not to cause dinks/dents/scratches

you don't need to use a hammer to take off the pulley when its cold. you have to pull it off at a angle. you can't pull it straight off. if you angle it comes off easily.

because the bearing was failing on my oem pulley it WOULD not come off. engine was cold but the grease from the bearings was burnt onto the s/c shaft and acted like glue. using a rubber hammer and a fiberglass deadblow hammer i was able to break the pulley loose and remove it. then clean the shaft and the c3 slid rite on. i now have a new bearing to go into the oem and keep as a spare
