I will be going the C63 route with every conceivable mod known to man next year... hopefully building a low 120's N/A car out of it
On top of, upgraded brakes, adjustable suspension, proper lsd... should be nasty

Seriously? Your getting a 55K swap after all that bore/sleave work with custom pistons and all...
Rob, Dont get me wrong. I'm on your side. I just get the feeling something is up. I'm very confused. I also think other members are too. last we heard the motor was in and running and was being driven home to put miles on it...?
Now we hear there was fire damage to the engine causing damage to the cylinder wall. How was that stuff not seen. Infact I find it very hard to believe it wasnt spotted before hand. The fire happened on the or around the 4th of July. Your motor was out of the car at that point. How was it not seen or spotted then? Maybe your not telling us something or your not being told something.
As a fellow C55'er I want to see this car come to life.
Now you talk about a 5.7L new motor and finish date of Sept 30th or something. Have you asked yourself... "Honestly will it be done by the 30th?" I only say that because you have said and set so many dates and none of them have been met.
Rob, tell us what you really feel, Do you think It will be done? I want more than anything to line up next to you and run our C55s all out. Putting on a nice WTF face on the people watching.
Not saying it isn't true, but it's sure hard to make heads or tails of "fire at the shop exposed internal damage to the engine" especially after comments like "engine's running great, Vadim's putting mileage on it to break it in before tuning." With builds like these, "you pays your money and you takes your chances" certainly seems to apply - hope it's resolved amicably, and to the OP's satisfaction.
AMGSC - you appear to be the pinnacle of a true enthusiast, and seem to take even major issues very much in stride. I envy your patience (sincerely). Hope your CL65 mod path goes more smoothly than the 55er. I'd recommend strong consideration of partnering up with Kleemann or Renntech for that one... but just my $0.02.
