Do dealers install johnson cm30 pump?
Has anyone gone to a dealer to install their johnson cm30 pump? if so, how much did it cost? There's not too many shops that handle mercs here so not too many options out there... Thanks in advance.

i'm sure they could, but if you have a warranty, it might not be a good idea since it isnt a factory/OEM part. could void your warranty, depending on who your warranty is through and if it is a factor/extended factory warranty.
it isnt bad to do it yourself to be honest. and i believe there is a writeup or two on this forum on how to do it.

Your no "location" doesn't help us out when trying to assist you.
If you are concerned with your dealer not installing something aftermarket or not standard parts, then don't take it there.
If you take it elsewhere, you should only go to repair shops that hold the MBUSA Certificate of Approval and are capable of meeting all standards and requirements to repair your vehicle--meaning properly and adequately trained techs, proper facility & tools, using standard parts & paints and confirm certificate status on MBUSA.com.
P.S. The OEM pump is the Johnson CMP7-1 and was licensed / sold to MB for use in this and some other SC applications.

Sorry, pretty new on here. I'm in Calgary in Canada. The car doesn't have warranty but at least I want to find someone who knows something about our cars and can do a proper job, hence that's why I wondered if people has ever gone through dealers and the price they charged.
I read all the DIY's but I could never do anything mechanical so that's out of the question

Dealership policy is no customer or aftermarket part so there goes that option!
DIY = I'm a donkey when it comes to cars (I would probably wreck the bolts or something knowing my less than mechanic 101 basics), maybe i should just drive around a shop until I can find a mechanic to do it and bring the DIY print outs! lol
Vancouver is still 12 hours away
Btw, what are you shopping for? I would imagine shopping in Seattle is much better than in Vancouver.

I'd do everything in my power to find an independent shop, not just for this but future repairs! MB dealers are terrible on service costs. Almost any small shop can install the Lightning IC pump and Ford harness. It isn't that hard. I gave mine the instructions from this Board and the labor was below $100.
