Bi-Xenon info+question C55

So...many of you C55 owners don't have the same issue I have. Why?

because most of the C55s on board have Bi-Xenons, I was unfortunate to have one with just Clear Halogens. I am always in the market for a set of Bi Xenons to fit the C55, and since we use the CLK front end, I assume the CLK headlights would fit.

Well, the CLK has 3 different types of headlights. 2003-2005 Bi Xenons, 2006-2008 Bi-Xenons and 2003-2008 Clears.

I found myself a set of 2006-2008 Bi-xenons, with broken tabs that I can possibly repair, for a VERY cheap price, because it doesnt come with bulbs, ballast or ignitors.

I found myself the DDM HID KIT to D2S/D1S adaptor, so I can use my HID for for this project.

I also manage to find a set of TSX Projectors, that I plan to retrofit into the "high beam" portion of the headlight, so I'll have dual projectors.

I plan to tap into my low beam for the secondary projector, so I'll have both of them on at the same time, that means, no high beam for me.

1. Well, here's the question. If I leave the high beam hanging, with no bulbs, I'll probably "get" a error message on my dash, that'll just be it.

2. What happens if I completely cut off my high beam to use for my secondary projectors, what happens then?

3. Is it even POSSIBLE to fit the 2006-2008 CLK headlights!?

of course, I'll be painting my lens 040 black, and I think I'll be using 3000k bulbs for my low beams, yes both. I'm currently going for the le mans look, my fogs+city lights are already 3000k

hope this project works out.

interesting project Gary!

the new one should fit as it's only a styling change, not the shape.

quad projector would be interesting. kind of like the SLR. pshop it first. lol

lol thanks frank

it's gonna be a pretty straight forward project, i MIGHT not do the dual projector, it might look a bit...weird, but I still want to get that done first.

I'm jsut not sure abt matte black, or painted black

you won't get a error message unless you pull the high beam lever. If you don't pull the lever, no error or you can solder resistors.

yeah i would just go with not pulling the high beam level... the errors clear up when you turn off your car anyways.

Advans, you might of known this already but the 03-05 style have self leveling system, I believe the CLK 06-08 lights has an improved adaptive system meaning it's also correspond with the steering wheel as well (up-down leveling, left-right steering)
