My brother is looking for a C55 AMG and found one for $25,000 @ 28,500 miles. It's a 2006 model. Four months of warranty left. No bix's or navi.
Good price? What is usually the price range?
There's also one going 30k for asking price, similar miles, but with a navi and bix's.. I don't know how much of a talk down my brother can do on that one.
Thanks.

At those prices I would shift over to an e55.. I've actually came across some in the mid $20k's..
^ Disagree. Those E55's in that range are high mileage.
Being as I just bought one a few months ago, that looks to be "ok" - it's a little high but does have good mileage. I would spring for the BiX though, the navi looks nice but doesn't work well so that's your option. See what you can talk them down to, but low-mid 20's is what you're basically looking at.

Manheim, which is wholesale prices, has the car at about $22 K with those miles, so the price is not out of the ballpark of reason?? $23,000-24,000 and I'd say he got a decent deal , even without the Navi or BiZs. It was nearly a $60 K car new. Originally Posted by laneshift

On the $30 K, one, he's way way high. You can get a E55 for that range!!

E55 - Most high 20 cars I saw had between 75-110k miles, and weren't in the best condition. There might be some new ones on the market since then. A decent E55 in good condition and "relative" miles was catching 35k.Originally Posted by saer1one

C55 - High 20's cars were normally dealer CPO. I did see some nuts that were over 30k.
I suggest using Edmunds.com pricing. They use TMV pricing and I found them to be the most accurate...at least a few years back. I was financed to start my own used car lot (changed directions when i got a big promotion at work) and was spending great deals of time reviewing dealer auction data, private party sales and more and found TMV to be the mosdt accurate compared to KBB or NADA. I have 40+ hours into that

I'd say that's good. I just bought my car today for $26,500 and it's an 05 with 32k miles. It is certified though. No bix or nav either.

CPO is more $ no matter what way you cut it, so if CPO is important to you, then you can't compare apples to apples.

Thanks for the responses. I also want to find out for my brother: What are the common issues of the C55? Are they similar of the other w203's? Noisy purge valve, etc?

Do you mean an oil change? I'm not sure since there's no dipstick, I can't pull it and see how clean the oil is. The cluster says something like 9800 miles until the next service. I've got 16 quarts of M1 0W-40, so I may go ahead and change the oil to be sure. I meant to get a copy of the service work performed in the inspection, but it was getting late and I forgot.Originally Posted by Dingleberry

If you dont mind higher miles but would like a newer car I see E550'S now in mid-high 20's, not as fast as E55 but it as fast as C55.
