I think they're ready...

I think I have my BiX ready to install! I took them apart and had the shrouds painted to match my car and I reattached the broken tabs. The seller had reattached the tabs with "super glue" so I knew I was going to have to reinforce that. One of the top tabs broke off again in shipping. I used a 2 part epoxy called plastic weld and I scuffed up the areas with a die grinder so it had something to grab onto and then just layed it on thick. I didn't bother removing the other tabs that were still glued on. For now it seems very strong. I can yank on the tab pretty good and it doesn't show any sign of coming off, but I just don't know if it'll hold up to the temperature changes and such. Hopefully I'll be installing them Saturday. Here's a few teaser pictures and of the tabs on one of them:

Its not that hard to get them open, I just used a heat gun and a scraper to pry them open without any damage. When I went back together I put a small amout of gray engine sealant (RTV) to make sure they're sealed well, and then used the heat gun and some pliers to carefully squeeze the lens back on. Took much longer to get the lens back in that it did to get it off.

you're supposed to use a special gum to seal the headlights.

you can get it cheaper at the nissan dealership. they call it some sort of headlight glue. you lay it out on the headlight, then heat it up, then mush the lens into it and when it cools down it creates an airtight seal

^^^ +1 since I've been doing some research and seems like the way to go. I am planning on painting to color match my Bi-X as well.

I was going to get the Nissan stuff, but there was enough left in the headlight that I'm sure the little bit ofsETV I put in there will seal it up fine. I probably could have gotten away without the RTV actually.

Yes. The headlights are factory CLK BiX headlights.
