Stay tuned....but you better have an exoriscim performed on it before you drive it.
since my car is already possessed in a not-so-good way, maybe a cheaper Powerchip "Ghost" tune will only make it run better.
Maybe I can visit them with a false mustache, wig and dark glasses and say I want the "under-the-table Wayne doesn't know tune" at regular market prices.

Why do you feel obligated to powerchip? Are you convinced that they are the only tuners on the planet?
You know what, I dont think they wanted to take on your project. So they threw an unrealistic price your way in hopes you'd go away.
The only problem is, you didn't go away, your actually considering it.

Powerchip. Shame on you for trying to rip off a customer of your business partner who spent in total over $50K with from beginning to now. You not only make yourselves look bad but you made a fool out of Vadim. Maybe Vadim is in on this and planning to share in the windfall?

Robert, does the car run at all? If so we can get it on the dyno and have the motor checked out and diagnosed. Once a very mild map is in your car the motor will be broken in on the dyno. After that we will run a full compression test. If that does check out then we move on to the next step.... If it does not, and compression is low. We go from there to fix the problem.

Most tuners can custom tune a car in 4-6hrs. There's only so many different A/F ratios you can change.
If its a car they consistently work on..they can probably do it in 3-4hrs max.

A bit worried abut possible sabatoge
My car is in Powerchip's/Vadim's shop tonight. If PC reads this thread I am really nervous about the safety of my car.
I tried to get it out tonight but Vadim assured me it was safe. If my brand new engine implodes, I'll have this thread as evidence.

How about Travis Cattach? He quoted me directly and said the pricing was set by Wayne. If they don't want to tune it then just say no but they said they had no problem tuning it and the car's heavy mods and Vadim's work was not an issue at all.

I heard the engine start up and it ran much smoother than the previous custom rebuild that failed. This is a brand new OEM E55 block, piston, rods, rings, timing chain, everything so compression should not be a problem. Mike Elias from www.MercedesEngines.net assembled the brand new short block from parts ordered directly from AMG Germany because he rebuilds MBs exclusively for a living. I just don't know how long it's going to stay healthy in PC's shop with no tuning and only trial-and-error adjustments to fuel regulator kit to adjust for the 82MM TB.
Lets end this nightmare once and for all. ***** in your court.

If they sell you a tune for 10k and you pay. Call the DEA.. Drug lords would only charge you 6k.. Some one is getting a huge kick back.. Also just the thought of them asking for 10k, they should be banned from this forum.. I will tunre it for 4k
