I have everything unhooked as per splinter's diy, I also have the fan out. There's something on the bottom that's not letting the radiator out. It looks like a bracket coming off the heat exchanger that connects to the radiator. How do you get it off? It's not coming off!

My mechanic had the very same problem, it was impossible to get out. He ended up cutting the bracket off of the stock HE since I was replacing it with an LET anyways.

Not really a good solution, but what I ended up doing.

Good Luck!

There has to be a way for them to come apart. I don't mind smashing up the rad, but I don't want to damage the heat exchanger bracket thingy.

Whoever designed the bracket going from the heat exchanger to the radiator should be castrated with a butter knife.

I love how splinter's write up mentions nothing about this bracket...

Agreed. Even just getting the stock HE out of that bracket was a PITA.

Well I got it out. Would have been nice if the DIY at least mentioned the heat exchanger clips.

Which transmission line is the feed line off the pump, the bottom or the top line?

06 Elise (total loss)
I hacked out the clips with tin snips... took 30 seconds. Replace the HE with something better, stock is a POS.
