Another C55 Record
Just getting back from Famoso. It was a great time for sure.
I had traction issues all day long. I ended up running an 11.55 @ 120mph with wheel spin. I was spinning so bad it sent my trans into a funk. Causing the clutch packs to slip. Sadly I think my trans is shot from the years of abuse racing and its time for from new clutch packs.
At the end of the day my trans felt like a drunk man in bar fight. Sloppy, but getting the job done. You can have all the TCU tuning in the world, but if there is nothing left to grip than it is what it is.
Here is the video of my car setting a new record while getting destroyed by a 10.1 Mustang

Thatta boy hooley, congrats on the run.
Get it rebuilt with tighter tolerances so there's alot less clutch slippage & quicker shifts, it should be able to handle 800+ no problem.

Its crazy I run an 11.55 and I think it feels like crap. Yet on a 12.1 pass I think it runs great. Only to be let down when I get my time slip.

I had to change my tire pressure 8 times! I run 26psi here in AZ and it works great. I got to Famoso and at the end of the day I got 12psi in the tires and I'm still spinning.

Cool I didn't think you did that should make you a little quicker hopefully. Are you going with Quaife? I know evosport has a nice looking one, but not sure if they ever finished developing it.

Mike, you ran that off of ESP (ESP OFF) then?? What a great run.
Q: What the heck was that Mustang running??? 133 MPH. WOW!! He had a good hole shot on the stang BUT he started running out of breath at the end. Another qtr and you would have caught him!!

Nice run! Too bad I left before you hit that record.
fyi...After talking to Richard, I think the MAF is the number 1# constraint on our cars. There is a company called ABACO http://www.abacoperformance.com/ that makes oversized digital MAF sensors/meters that are fully programmable and scalable. I don't really want to move my MAF sensor the way you did it because it is still only a partial solution plus the fact that I have dual cone 3" intakes and you have a single cone intake.
Once I get this oversized MAF, I should be able to add another 4psi with a 160mm crank pulley (stock is 150mm) coupled with my 65mm (12psi) SC pulley and reach 16psi safely on a 9:1CR motor. I was told by Kleemann that I would need to upgrade my fuel pump in addition to larger fuel injectors.
Again Congrats and I learned alot from your team and wished I was ready to run except for that stutter problem caused by the MAF.

Dyno mode all the way. As long as you go to the long turn off it wont tax the brakes to much. You get alot of feel when racing in dyno mode. If you havent tried it you might want to give it a shot. It works for me, but I'm not sure how someone else would like it.
Yeah that Mustang was crazy fast. I was going to let him just run and then do my pass, But I forgot.
Newz, your dead on. I said the same thing after the race. At the end he was not pulling on me. I looked like he had big 4.11's in the rear end or something and was just about at its limit for his setup. He nailed a 1.45 60ft. How he did that on this track was insane.

and people say RT doesnt matter (The stang must've had a good one as well, do you know what it was from the slip??? ) I still say BS, it totally matters when 2 cars are running against each other. If you're going it alone, I agree that its no big deal BUT when you're draggin against a car like that 'Stang, RT makes helluva lot of difference. A 1.45 60 ft means he had big meats on the back and was really hooking too.
Mike, do you realize that your time was only a .18 click away from George's Twin snail Corvette that I raced last fall??? He ran a 11.32. Man, thats a great run, NOW if you can just get that Quaife and the trans fixed too, you'd be low 11s.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7gEg__GBn0 Watched it: *** 12.74 at 115, barely quicker than my C32; Jake's car (C32) would have taken it!!! Not impressed with that particular C63 for sure!!!!! ***

Of course RT matters in a heads-up race, if the race matters to anyone or counts for anything. It just has zero impact on ET, 60', MPH, etc etc.
It really isn't that complicated...

Hooley - great job on setting your new record - chopping a quarter-second off at your ET levels (mid-11s) is huge for this platform... congrats.

I spoke to ABACO (Brian) and for $425 + $50 file transfer fee, you can run as much boost as your engine can handle without the ECU interefering and causing the stumble/stutter problem. Of course fuel injectors and fuel pump would need to match the increase in boost.

LOL, It was good to be one of the fastest MB out there. The M3LOL plate was living up to its name. Even supercharged E92 M3's got nothing on me. Now thats a good feeling.
If you guys ever get a chance to meet Splinter he is a great guy. I wish I had more time to talk with him. These race events are like work.. In a fun sort of way.
