wheel cleaner
I just removed the wheels from the C55 for the winter wheel set up and realized the inside of the rim has brake dust that appears to be pitting the inside of the rim. I clean the inside of the rim the best I can each and every time I wash the car but this pitting has occurred and wont come off easily.
I have tried waxing and many cleaning solutions. Has anyone discovered a trick to removing this annoying mess?

try meguires wheel cleaner and a medium brush. let it set for a few minutew. may not get it all off but worked well on my oems which had yrs of buildup before i got them

fyi, wheel cleaners can tarnish and stain the finish on brake calipers. careful how you spray it.
I just use soap and water, and a brush if necessary. for the inside of the wheel, a good rubdown is good enough for me. unless you're at a show, no one's looking at the inside of your wheels.

2006 C55 AMG White/Ash
+1 on P21S, it's made in Germany and will not stain wheels like some cleaners that clain to be safe for all finishes. I use Wheel Wax too, it will get any brake dust off that can be removed and leaves the wheels slick and brake dust doesn't stick. The only problem with Wheel Wax, is if you do go ahead and use a painted wheel cleaner instead of just soap and water, the cleaner will remove the Wheel Wax as well.

I have had good luck with eagle 1 wheel and tire cleaner. I know it has mixed reviews on the web, but has always worked great for me (note:I have never had anything other than oem wheels, so I have never tried it on diffent finishes). Might be a good thing to use, especially for the inside of your wheels.
